Sara... I have to go out this evening, but will see what I can do to help tomorrow afternoon/evening.

It may be that we can help you do a Tree for your Dads side back to the 1700's before Christmas,(you say you have already done a lot, back to 1821)

Then try to piece together your Mother's ready for her on Mothers Day.

I've just checked on Scotlands People. You can only access birth's from 1855-1906.

I will try tomorrow afternoon to put together what we know... I have been at a meeting this evening & do not seem to be able to get myself going on searches this evening.

Crougar & Marion, think we need to get Sara to sort out what they already know! or we may be searching in the wrong places... marriage could have been in Holland.

If you contact any registrar's office in scotland or use the contact details on Scotlandspeople site then they will send you the birth certificate - downside is it costs £13 to do it that way.
From that you will get the date and place of marriage of the parents and also their names.
Then look up the marriage cert on Scotlandspeople and that will give you the ages of the couple, names of both sets of parents, whether they are deceased or not, the maiden names of the mothers and the occupations of the fathers.
Sandhaven is in Banff and I have a fair few people from there and Portsoy! Not Patersons I hasten to add - my Patersons were Ag labs from Strichen near Fraserburgh.

Sara have got access to your tree.

Am just off to work, will take a look when I get back.

Have had a quick peep, need your fathers parents details... you did say you have his Grandparents as well... if you could add them to you GR tree as well.

Will give it a try, no promises, but need to know as much as possible & you will have to apply for certificates.
