you'd boil a chicken to gain stock or to make soup, so I don't see why it can't be done that way for curry! |

Boil a chicken , remove when cooked and take off flesh then add diced vegetables and pieces of chicken to the stock again , simmer until veggies are tender, add seasoning.....a wonderful , nutritious soup and excellent for treating colds and 'Flu' |

Hi Puss.. a boiling chicken used to be the old chickens that had stopped laying eggs. They were often a bit tough, so needed to be boiled (as in soups, stews, curries etc) for a long time to tenderise them. The soups and stews from them were out of this world!! |

Kitty, I always use the highest setting on my slow cooker for chicken soups or stews, but I make a pure stock in a large pan.. that is only when I am chucking in all the bones, skin etc and I have even been known to use the remnants of the ready cooked chooks you buy hot from the store, to boil for stock. Much nicer than stock cubes if you have the time todo it. |
