hi
ive only been a member a few months now but in that time other members have been able to assist me with info on ancestors and living rellies for which im grateful
unfortunatly these sons and daughters of my fathers brothers dont want to know some are on the internet and members of gr
i am competly baffled and getting disheartened by this and have let them know but to no avail
still onwards i go in the hope that i am able to trace some more living rellies that will at least respond whether they wish to keep in contact or not

Hi David
Sorry I have no answers regarding your disinterested relatives, and I'm saddened also to learn they're members of GR........there must be a reason why they don't want contact......think they're silly myself as living family members should be a source of knowledge for their own tree!

There's an old Geordie saying "There's nowt sa queer as folk"!!

Good luck in your searches
Mau xx :O)

David,
I am sorry to hear that your relatives aren't more forthcoming...don't give up though you may find that it is just too busy a time for them to keep in touch at the moment, they might well become more interested later on.

. I have been very lucky to find some cousins with whom I now keep in touch, several through GR. And am still working at finding all the links to pass on to them also.

good luck
Rosex

David I dont want to sound negative but have you considered why the families lost touch? There are some people I would like to correspond with...but until others have passed away it is just not possible.

I know thats sounds hard but it is life for a lot of people.

They may not intend to sound rude although it sounds like has come across that way..

Just another train of thought but I wish you every success.

I to have had some rellies not respond to my messages and it is very dishearting. But never the less there are a few that do respond. I am now in contact with a few cousins and we email eachother from time to time. Don't give up as it can take some time for people to reply. Good luck with your search. Lynette x

I know exactly how you feel about living rellies.
My mums one remaining sister is the only link i have with her family, and although we've spoken on the phone and she was so excited about helping me, she has lots of family pics and papers, she promised i could borrow..... but suddenly the calls have stopped, and when she does answer, she's "too busy" at the moment.

Ahhh well.....you can't pick your families :-)

happy searching

hi David
dont give up i found my cousin after 62yrs and i wrote to her and she wrote back sending me aphot of her mum who was my dads sister and some of herself, shes going on for 83 but she remembered me from 1946 i was just 6yrs old, shes going to write again but at the moment the family are in mourning as she buried her d.i.l age 53 with cancer and lost her only g,daughter age 16 with cancer,so i told her when the time is right i would like to visit her she lives in cornwall and im in holland
so you see David there is some nice living rellies so keep going
