susie manterfield(high wycombe) Report 9 Oct 2007 15:20

thankyou rose
my mum was one of those people who always done things for everyone else and was still working at the time of her stroke.
it hurts so much to see her so disabled now and confined to a wheelchair.not a day goes by when i dont have a good cry.

she still worries about us though, bless her.
her mind has been damaged because of the stroke and it is hard to hold a conversation with her,but she is still my mum and im so grateful that she is still here with us:)).

Susie, it is very hard ,maybe especially when caring for someone who has always been the most energetic person, my mum loved to walk and dance and always the one to be helping others.

to see her in a wheelchair was very hard and it felt over the last few years of her life almost as if the person she had always been had already left us.

Hi,
I am a carer for OH full time, but we do go out and about and he ( tries ) to help around the house. and it is easy to sort jobs after he has done them.
Thats why I love to gett on here and have the wee chats that go on. So I am sending a Hug to all those who take time to chat.

Like to join in with all the HUGS, My son is deafblind and he has taught me so much about Real people who Care. He can be so loving and drive me mad, but he is my boy. My mum now has Alzheimers so a whole new ball game. When you Care for people its lovely to know other people can Care about you too. Still I just colour my grey hair blonde and get on with life, just like the rest of YOU.
