I am sure your hair will look better in the day light Rose and as you say it will wash out and fade soon as well as grow out, it just shows the roots more when you use a dark colour which is why I moved to blonde shades as I went greyer and greyer.
It is on offer in Boots at the mo, two packs for £8.50.
Thanks for good wishes, looks as tho it is 10 degrees warmer in Malta than here so that will be nice for a start, and I won't be cooking and stuff so much, got conned into cooking nearly every night when I was in Wales last month so not much of a holiday. This time am leaving o.h. here and going with my son who can do some of the cooking or we can go out to eat.

Hi Liz, hope you have a great holiday!

Not too worried about my hair.....!
Sounds like you probably use the same shade as my friend, I have used much the same shade before just to get the grey out so will go back to that next time lol.

Hi Rose, sorry you aren't happy with the new hair colour but all you need to do to tone it down is use Head and Shoulders, it will take a lot of the colour out. Good luck.

I have to do mine tomorrow but is easy, light beige blonde Nice and Easy, tried and tested and at first I go strawberry blonde but after a couple of washes it looks fine so will swan round Malta with a gleaming head of hair lol

Susan, sorry not been in touch much, been busy getting ready, nearly done now, just have to do my hair and pack Sunday then round to my son's for the night as o.h. on earlies Monday, and son lives close to coach station. Will take us longer to get from Norwich to Luton Airport than to fly to Malta.

I keep thinking of the Lorraine Chase ad - Luton Airport - from way back lol

Have fun
Lizx

Hellooo I 'm back from mowing the neighbour's grass lol
Thanks for the advice, it is not a 'permanent' colour just washes out over about 20 washes...so if it's a disaster it won't last too long! if I like it I can use a 'permanent colour' next time!

My eyebrows are dark anyway but it might make me look a bit 'peaky' lol we'll see!

Betty.................grey does show up more in dark hair...........my sister is fair and you can hardly notice her grey, mine is dark and the grey roots show really badly.

Daff...........my OH does mine, he is getting quite good now,....he's had the job for a few months now and will have to carry on until my frozen shoulder unfreezes.

Kitty, I dye mine at home when I can, but when my shoulders are bad I can't reach to do it, so I get it done for me then.

Rose I think when you colour it dark, then the grey grows in you see it more/

Hi Rose,

I think if you go from a light colour to Dark Brown, you maybe wont like it!! from light to very Dark Brown quite a change.

MrDaff Report 5 Oct 2007 18:37

Hi Rose ~~~waves~~~ to Hayley and Kitty.

I know exactky how you feel!!

My natural hair colour was very very dark brown, almost black. My eyebrows are black, and I have darkest brown eyes. My skin tone is quite Mediterranean, I think. But my silver bits are on the top half of my head, and the very dark bits are on the bottom half of my head!! So in order to, um enhance my hair colour, it has got to be very dark, as otherwise my natural dark hair doesn't change colour at all, while my silver goes carrotty! But at 53, I feel that I should be going a gentler brown.. a top hairdresser did it for me last time, and it is very dark!! Still not used to it. And the roots are showing badly after just 3 weeks. Sigh!! Why does hubby look distinguished with his silver locks, and I, well, don't!!

Love
