I got twinkle when I was little, I loved the one about the teddies hospital.
Later it was Mandy and Judy, later still Mizz, Patches, Just 17 (where I found out you could get pregnant 1st time!) and Jackie.
My Aunt got Bunty until she was 21 as my Nanna loved to read wee slavey.

Bell blair...... I have a contemporary! So excited!!!

And I remember the cut out dolls.

My sister and I were sent a parcel (1948/9) from my mum's auntie Etta in America. She sent us loads of lovely colouring books, and a paper doll of Margaret O'Brian (remember her?).
The doll was almost as big as my sister was... 7 yrs... and we had such fun with them.

Oh I did have lovely childhood.
thanks mummy....

I had, the GIRL & GIRLS CRYSTAL.
They were girls stories, but with few pictures. They looked very much like my mum's ORACLE & MIRACLE. just stories with few pictures.

I absolutely adored them. I could not wait each week until they came out. THEN.... they were turned into 'picture stories'.... just another comic.
I was so hurt. I never bought them again.
that was the early 50's.
Please someone tell me you remember??? ;-0)

My elder sister would have the Girl comic, my elder brother had Eagle - and I got the Beano and Dandy, We was posh and had our papers delivered - and so our comics were all laid out on the table when we came down for breakfast, Tuesday mornings I think.

Bunty, Judy, Diana, Jackie, those were the days, eagerly awaiting the next instalment and rushing to the newsagents to get the comics - great, I went on ebay and got a load of these annuals from the 1960's - won't part with em LOL

I had Beezer before moving on to Jackie. Strange when I found out that "Jackie" was the Jacqueline Wilson who was writing the books my daughter was reading

My Mum saves me First and Yours.

The NME was always a few pence too much to pay, I couldn't have the sweets if I bought that so never really got into it.

Joanne,
It's mandatory in our family to have Beano and Dandy Annuals every year too. They do a joint one too.

What happened to Summer Specials??
