Well done Julia.
I have 8 to make! But I can't start them until my new cooker is delivered & installed on October 3rd. I'll have to mature them with loads of alcohol! LOL

The large oven on my range type cooker is broken and the small oven doesn't work very well and last year a couple my cakes were a bit "puddeney" - if that is a word! LOL

It's taken me until now to save up enough to order my new cooker, and I can't wait :o)))))

Are you like my MiL Julia......she makes holes in the bottom of hers, and although it contains alcohol when she is making it, keeps adding more......by the time Christmas comes you can smell the cake a mile off.....

Oooh love Christmas cake.

I normally make mine in October so will get my ingredients soon.

I'm not normally this organised but I did a lot of Christmas preparations very early last year because my husband was very ill. It really made it seem so much easier. This year I am doing the same and I have already bought most of my presents and wrapped them as I went along. I got the cards, paper and crackers in the January sales so it should be much simpler than usual.

Sorry to be a pain! :)
I can really recommend getting presents a few at a time and wrapping them as you get them though.

LOL

Well hot cross buns seem to be on sale all the time these days!

Seriously though.....the bits I like about Christmas, like decorating the house and making bits and pieces, have tended to get left till last because I've been in such a flap normally. I have to sort things for my Guides to do and my work normally gets busy before Christmas. So getting things out of the way now means I can do the fun fiddly stuff and relax doing them.
My clothes peg reindeer and fircone gnomes are famous in these parts! LOL
