We have family in the states and my cousin went into work ...to the building almost next door ...and watched as the second plane hit the tower.

she finds it hard to put it behind her, she lost friends and still finds it hard to look at whats left.

she said they spent days afterwards cleaning the dust from the offices .......of which she knows contained DNA from those who didnt make it

RIP.. and if there is a GOD help those who "saw" what they "SAW"

I lost 295 colleagues that day. May they rest in peace. It's a day I'll never forget. We watched it on TV at work, knowing some of our colleagues were in there. Some were on the floors the first plane hit. 9/11 will always be a very sad day for me. AL

I was at a garage, getting an accident repair quote, when my daughter rang, and said an aeroplane had hit the trade centre, not realising how serious it was I thought of the time when the Empire State building was hit,by a plane..
""Oh, another of those yanks in a Cessna lost his way"".........
only when I got home did the true awfulness hit me....

such a tragic day...

Not forgotten - 9/11 has had a huge impact on the American 'psyche' - I have spent time there before and since. Those who still suffer are in my thoughts.

Hubby and me were in Canada with my sis and BIL when 9/11 happened, she had badgered us for many a year to visit but it never seemed to fit cos we all were working full time.
We had thought to go over the border to Seatle for a few days but BIL saw that the Sand Castle Championships had been held locally and if we didnt visit then we would be too late to view them so we rearranged the schedule otherwise we would have crosssed the Border and been stuck!!.
We were getting ready and BIL as looking at the news to check weather forcast and saw the newscast and the later events of the other planes hijacked. We ALL stood and watched the events as they unfolded.
Never forget the horror and disbelief as we saw what happened.
As we got control of our feelings we then later had panic as to wether we could get home cos we had only standby tickets cos BIL worked at Vancouver Airport. Was worried cos me.OH.and younger Sis all were on essential medical medication and it might run out!!.

We felt so much for the victims but we then had worries for ouselves. We did tho manage to fly back on the day we due too
