We have a cat flap too, but most nights he's on the end of our bed. A bowl of water is good for fighting cats!!! :o))
If he does stay in we have a cat tray - although the other day (we had visitors with a baby) l forgot and he pee'd on the cushions:o((((((

Afternoon al!

I do like my mog to be in at night, but on a warm evening she has other ideas.
She decided to live with us, so as a stray she must have been on the streets of a busy city without coming to any harm.
She is very street-wise and sits on the pavement watching the traffice pass.
Since she arrived here, I no longer have birdtables in the garden. It seemed too much like a trap. But I have not found her killing any birds yet.
I have seen a rather small mog chasing a very large fox down our road, so I think that the local fox population know not to mess with city mogs!
If she is outside, whatever the time of day or night, I/we dash out if we hear any cats yelling at one another.
I am just glad that we do not live in Australia if they eat cats out there!

I would love my neighbour 5 cats to stay in....fed up with shovelling cat poo up!!

Mine always stayed in at night .........and used a litter tray.

wifeys little bugger brings his mates throught the cat flap at night for a midnight snack! 3 of them last night!

I have had cats (and cat-flaps) for years and have always allowed them to do as they please.
My last trio, George, Mr and Betty are siblings. they were kept in at night until they were about 9 months old, then I allowed then to do what they wanted.
When he was 10 months and 3 days old, George was hit by a vehicle and his jaw broken. This cost me £200 in vet's bills.
As the 2 boys are all black, and Betty is mainly black, I now lock them in at night!!

If our cat is out at 10 he stays out, if he's in, he's in for the night.
I can't be up & down all night ....... I need my beauty sleep :)))))

My 8 yr old tom cat, Pepsi, is a house cat. He can't stand the outdoors. I keep taking him up on to the lawn to try to get him used to outside but he just runs straight back indoors!

Bit of a pampered puss, he is - likes to sleep on the end of my bed at night and expects cuddles as soon as I sit down of an evening.

Mine are in every night. Kitten comes in automatically between 8.30 and 9.00 every night. My big boy gets called in about 10.30. Either I or OH will stay up until both cats are in - on a hot Summer's night we could be up until 4.00am waiting for my boy, but I can't sleep if he's out. Over the past few years we've had a few cats disappear around our way - including my boy's big brother - couldn't bear it if I lost another cat. I don't think it's fair to keep them in all the time - they love rolling on the grass and hunting and playing with the other cats, but I do want them in at night. Usually ends up with all four of us on one bed - with the cats having most of the room!

Ours are in at night even though they can use the Cat Flap.6.30.on the dot they both come in and stay in.Mind they,re creating Havoc in the garden all day. .M.
