I have just been reading on the BBC news website of heroic Jane Tomlinson's death.

A woman called Jan Powell has written that she feels "conned" and "duped" because Jane Tomlinson did not die within six months of her diagnosis as the doctors had estimated.

I feel so shaken and upset for her family and everyone who is fighting the disease in all of its forms, and to have such courage and tenaciousness denigrated is ......

I can't even say.

I haven't posted on there but I feel so upset. How can anyone have such a vicious and compassionless mind?

ive heard that before that jane had a lot of hate mail saying that she was a con, and how could she do all she did if she really had cancer, its so cruel to treat someone like that, i dont know why some are like it, cruel minds and mouths

I totally agree with you, Abigail. The woman must have a heart of stone not to be uplifted by someone with Jane Tomlinsons strength and fortitude.

Jane was one heck of a superstar.

Ive just read the article - she was a very brave and courageous woman - but I didnt see Jan Powells comments... Are they in a different story?

Jan Powell has obviously never had to suffer the pain of losing someone to this dreadful disease.

Every day beyond the time left to live is a wonderful bonus for the family and to be treasured .

Thanks for replying. I have followed her story for years now and not long after I heard of her I had a patient who was the mother of three children under five.

She went downhill really fast and died. Her poor babies would barely remember her.

I wish I had an ounce of her strength of character for my healthy life.

I cant understand why Jane would have hate mail? Why on earth would someone send hate mail to someone who was terminally ill?

They are in the have your say. All the other replies are about how she raised awareness and inspired people to greatness in their own lives, as she did.

Some people are just Cruel!! and self centred,this Jan Powell,is a very insensitive woman,she probably has no feelings for anything!

What Jane Tomlinson did she did for others not for personal gain, let the woman rest in peace and let her family mourn her in peace.
The world is full of people mumping about what others do if only they had the courage to do the same.

Hold on a minute, is Jane the lady who did all sorts of things to raise money for cancer research?
If I have got the right person, those who aren't compassionate about her condition and passing really should think twice.

As I said on an earlier thread Ihope these people now realise how inhumane they were/are.

Jane must of had one hell of a spirit to fight it that long and still be able to do all she did why cant they just let it rest and think of all the money she raised and what her poor family are going through now.

I clicked on the alert a moderator tab, filled in the form & the post was instantly removed.

Better it gone rather than any family member or friend reading it and the comments it provoked.

Our Tv station followed this lady around the world on her tour to raise money for cancer reseach and she had so much support from all the countries she visited what an insperation to others and her family may she rest in peace and i will light a candle for her on behalf of the good people on this site God bless her xxxHowie
