just watched the service and thought it was lovely.nice that her boys did her proud today.

I watched the service tonight and thought it was sensitively done - celebrating her life.

However, I don't think it will be the end of all the discussions. After all she was/is a part of this country's history and should be remembered for that and all her good work.

I watched the service live today and think her sons did superbly, they organised what they wanted for their mother (likewise the recent concert) and are a credit to her, at least this was before the inquest etc which is due in a couple of months which is bound to be yet another media circus - the press just want to sell papers and I don't think the press will ever let go.

Lets hope this is closure...... but I doubt it.

I think that William and Harry wanted to do this commemoration as an act of closure if I can put it that way.
Now, ten years on, they are grown up and could organise it themselves,it was a way of marking her importance to them personally in public and then getting on with their lives.

I hope now that the media will stop dragging up the past and let all concerned
remember Diana as (and when) they wish to.
In the princes' words as "the best mother in the world" to them. Doesn't matter what anyone else thought of her,I hope my son will think the same about me!

I would rather take a moment each day to remind myself of the good causes she supported and do what i can to help them .

I really dont understand it,Her Family Yes,but for the general public who never knew her,I find it very Odd:-(

Jut read your post stella and caught up with the others - mine may seem a little harsh.

But I feel no one is taking away what she had done, but shes not immortal - I really think its time for the 'Dianagate' to rest.

For both her family and everyone else.

She was a figure head - she dragged the Monarchy into this century.

But its ten years on - all shes remembered for on occasions like this is and what is portrayed is her 'media' image - which is why I compare her to Posh and dont really think we should still be greiving.

If her boys want to continue to remember her the best way is to continue with her work and to keep the monachy in touch.

But I for one think national mourning every five or ten years is too much. What will they do next - create a national holiday?

Just to add, I did watch and I thought William and Harry did both their parents proud.
They chose who was invited, music etc and said what they wanted to say about their mum, including that they now hoped everyone would 'look to the future' and let their mum rest in peace.

The media and public reaction in 1997 was insane and cynically used by Blair and co. to bolster New Labour's image.
Hopefully we've got it out of our system once and for all, now.

I think the best Tribute Her Boys could and should do is to take over her "Memorial Fund" and do something with it, which she would have wanted,and kick those other Plonkers off it,all they,re doing is wasting it on stupid things which is not what it was meant for. .M.

No I did not watch it. Frankly of no interest whatsoever to me.
