I think all those prayers may have been answered, the eye of the storm is just of the south shore of Jamaica as i write, still it will be a bad storm, with lots of damages. Coconuts flying from the trees are like missiles, power lines down, it has just be reported that a local prison has had its roof torn off and also a 'House of Correction' has lost it roof!! The winds/storm could last for up to 8 hours!...once it has passed, and the day has dawn, the sun will be as bright and beauiful as it always is in Jamaica, it will just be the awful damage that will show that Dean has 'visited'....Lilly

Hi Lilly, I must have had a Senior moment Lol. I thought you were actually in Jamaica. Re read you first post and saw my mistake. Three years ago, my Daughters were in Florida and caught up in the hurricane then, forget its name now. I was up all night on the PC listening to a radio station. Silly girls go every other year and again next year, always in the hurricane season. I just wish I could be brave enough to fly in an areoplane Lol. Hope all you family stay safe. Jenny.

listening to the radio, I have to say these people are amazing, they are so scared and have so little to lose, but they are so 'cool' and layed back Lol...must be all that 'pot' that they smoke, it keeps them relaxed...think I need some.Lol....I remember an old man in Jamaica once said. ' I have everything I need'. I have the sky, I have the Sun, and I have food....what else do I want or need!! certainly makes you think, did me anyway...Lilly

I am listening to the Jamaica Radio at the moment, and already there are trees down, electrical power cables down, some of which are still live, roofs being thrown across the street, trees are being pull up. Roads are blocked. Kingston and right across the Country are really taking a pounding by mother Nature, the whole of the Island is in the grips of winds of 145 miles per hour and really getting a beating...those poor people...please pray for them......Lilly
