I spoke to a 'foreign' woman at VIRGIN today because one of my phones isnt working, I gave her my phone number but she seemed to think that the phone that isnt working should have a diffrent number,,what a palarva.. An engineer is comming on monday,,which should be interesting as its Bank Holiday. And i dont know what time he will arrive because i could hardly understand a word she said, Why dont they ever have people who can speak english, |

Claire - just phone them back on 150 (ie free). I've spoken to 4 different people - 2 were from the UK !!! Just ask them to confirm what time he is arriving on Monday - give or take 6 hours :-))) |

Hi Penny I have found good advice about VM on www*cableforum*co*uk. There are engineers on this board that try to help people with advice and the moderators have connections within VM where they can sort customer problems out directly with the departments and avoiding the Call Centres. I assure everyone that I have no vested interest in this forum but have managed to bypass the dreaded telephone call to Customer Services by following advice from the engineers that respond to questions. There are also stories about the way some of the customers behave which will give you an insight from the other side of the fence. Steve |

Well the man came at 4.15 ! An internal fuse had blown so we got a new box. The engineer wasnt happy with virgin either & is leaving to work in South Africa. He says every customer moans about customer services !! Customer Services phoned & said there was no record of my call on saturday , but he wasn't calling me a liar but I couldn't have called !!!!! Thanks Steve for that info I have bookmarked that forum for future reference. |

That's an interesting thread. We used to have a package (TV, phone and broadband) from Telewest (now Virgin). We now have phone from BT and TV & broadband from Sky. We have saved about £20 per month and get a better service than we did. |

That strange Derek I looked at sky/BT - well they phoned me ! - anyway they couldn't beat my Virgin deal!! Wonder if it is based on your area! Mind you if I saved £20 a month I'd only be paying £10 for all 3 so perhaps we have different stations etc |

Penny, We've got the Sky 4 pack missing out news and music with Sky+ service and I've got the mid broadband package. The TV costs £18 and the broadband £5 per month. |

If you're not on cable then everything is through a BT land line. There have been rumours round another site that Sky will be going into land lines!! |

we lost our internet connection for almost a week and we were not going to phone the number that costs 25 p connection and 10 p per minute but that was the only way we could get it sorted. Apparently they refund you the cost of the call if the fault is theirs which in our case it was. We needed a new modem as ours couldnt cope with the new software they were downloading since September, wonder why it took until August to decide it couldnt cope..lol Not had our phone bill in yet so dont know if we did get a refund but they came and put a new modem in same morning. |
