Hi Penny :):) I hope you manage to get sorted with NTL :):) I know what you must be going through, here is a post I posted on another forum yesterday NTL. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR My ntl internet went down today. I did all the initial things that someone does but nothing, no connection. Rang NTL who are now charging 10p to connect and 25 p per minute for technical advice. I asked them if the servers were down. No of course not this is ntl they dont get problems do they. I spent half an hour on the phone, staying calm and polite, played the game they wanted me to and done all the same checks I had already done. Then they suddenly looked up and said ' You had better put your computer in the shop as its a technical thing. That did it for me I swore at them ( oh dear not often I lose my rag but they wound me up today. I told them that I would first check with other local people and see if they had any problems today..mmmm five minutes later, guess what, the internet suddenly came back on. Colin, not in a very good mood with ntl today. Good Luck. Colin :):) |

I don't mind - I'll just sit around here for 7 hours - with 2 kids - knowing that he still might not turn up anyway!!!!!!!!!! |

Hi all I have never bothered with NTL since they sent me a bill for £285.00 I would not Pay it cos I have never had NTL in any way shape or form It took 4 months to sort then not even an apology for their mistake. Paul |

OH....Please tell me you are joking?????????/ My son and his partner have just had it installed. They have had it for 2 weeks and in this week alone, it has been down THREE TIMES!! ALL EVENING and ALL NIGHT! I am having it installed on 25th, and am beginning to regret it already. Deanna X |

Oh Dear :( :( That is all you need with the children home as well. I dont actually use ntl for the tv but do know by looking at the latest server status on ntl that there is a major problem up and down the country at the moment with TV connections. http://status-cable.virginmedia(.)com/vmstatus/summary.do Colin :):) |

To be fair we have been with them for different things for 10 years. Haven't had that many problems with them. I'm sure it's similar with all companies. I was trying to sort out my Aunt's BT the other week & that was a pain too!! |

Hi Penny.....the usual then.....we waited in for an NTL engineer to dismantle the box as we were going back onto SKY.....he left the box and said someone would pick it up later.....l8 months later I threw it away.... |

Hi Penny :):) In fairness, I have been with them for about the same time and touching wood only had a couple of major episodes with them also. One was to do with the age of the box outside as the filters were old, It took many calls for that one and I received a few months free as compensation :):) I think what got me yesterday more then anything was them telling me to put the computer in the shop :):) I have worked around computers for years lol Colin :):) |

In their defence I should say that we use their telephone cable and for the computer.....and so far no problems......BT line was dreadful and BT refused to put in a new line....so they lost our business... |

i have been with ntl for about 8years now. we have started having problems with no internet connection since virgin took over. we lost connection just before easter and hubby phoned them. they said that they would come out on the followng friday ,which was good friday!! hubby asked them if they were sure as it was a bank holiday.they replied yes as they worked all over the holidays. but they did insist that if we werent in they would charge us £10 for a wasted call. so like good people we stayed in ,all day!! and youve guessed it.....we are still waiting.!!!! luckily the internet came back on by itself lol. weve had a few times since that it has gone down ,but it always comes back...touch wood lol susie |
