Morning Jen, Glad you are happy in your new home. I am still stressing with mine as nobody seems interested in buying. The market seems to have reached rock bottom. Don't bother your friend, most likely she has her hands full. Have a great day! Lindy ;)))) |

Hiya Lindy I am ecstatic in my new home, thanks - first swim today as the weather has only been good enough for paddling so far. :-) As to my friend, I am embarrassed that she hasn't contacted you yet, as SHE asked for your addy - I will give her a poke when I see her! Really nice to see you so happy xx love Jen |

Hi Lindy, How lovely to 'see' you. You don't post much anymore and I miss you. Sounds as if you are thoroughly enjoying yourselves. Weather forecast is good for us for the next week and I am so looking forward to seeing the sun and feeling warm and dry. Jean x. |

Ann, I sleep on the floor downstairs in the lounge as it is the coolest room in the house...and if I have a mind to I pop outside for a swim... I have copd which is lung allergy, under control...with medication. In 2002 a breakthrough in medication came up with a new drug called Asperiva 18 which is a miracle drug..It does not cure but controls... How I wish it was around a year earlier as it might have saved my Dad,,, My husband snores like the puppies and is dead to the world ' most of the time' except when I start choking... He is up like a flash...I wish that I could spare him that but as I said when I die I shall make a lot of noise...lol.. I hope that you get the water back on soon as it must be like living in the 'dark ages' Off to keep the old man company...and cheer his footie team...sigh... Lindy ;)))))))))))))))) |

Caz, I know exaclty what you mean! I was and never will be accepted...it used to bother me when I was younger but not anymore... I did everything in my power to try and make them like me...the problem is I am not Portuguese... At 53 I simply don't care anymore and severed relations a decade ago....that way they cannot hurt me... Lindy who has a loving husband, two sons and two puppies that I adore.... It is still hot and 'bladdy' humid.... ;))))))))))))))))) |

Lindy, why are you sleeping on the floor? Have you checked with the doctor about not breathing? I can imagine it is frightening for your husband. I would like a little of your heat then to dry up our awful floods. Not that we have been flooded we are among the lucky ones. AND we should be getting some water back on tomorrow, even if it is only good enough for flushing the loos. Ann Glos |

Hiya Caz, We have been in the Algarve for the last sixteen years... This wonderful old man whom I address as 'uncle' a respected and polite form... has always treated me as one of the family... He is a great man whom I shall always respect and do anything in my power to help... He accepted me when my in-laws did not. This is something I shall never forget and will always be there for him.... Lindy ;)))))))))))))))) |

Oh Ann, I don't want to sound like an old 'grouch' spelling? but you would not like to be here... Hot and humid and not a breeze is very uncomfortable. My bones ache from sleeping on the floor....and I have episodes of not breathing...which does not upset me as much as it does my husband... I keep telling him that if I am going to die it will not be in my sleep...as I will make so much noise to wake the dead... P:S: He is afraid of those that have passed over...I am not...lol.. not making light of things but am not afraid... Would love to see my old Dad! Lindy ;))))))))))))))))))) |

Another hot and humid day! No! I did not partake in any alcoholic beverages as we had unexpected visitors...which put a spanner in the works...was on my best behaviour. Had to cook a full Sunday lunch ..Portuguese style...sigh... woman in the kitchen ...etc...but it was worth it... OH's great Uncle..( ex army) who is deep in his nineties is one of the few that accepted me....and treats me as his ' great niece ' to all and sundry and God help anyone who does not accept this... I am so very fond of this old man who is a living legand....May God keep him with us for many years to come... He is on a trip from North to South, visiting family on the way and is also thinking of going to Spain and maybe... looking for another companion...heh! heh! ...I feel real sorry for his youngest son/driver etc.. who has to put up with his old man's whims. In the olden days if you could not find a suitable bride in Portugal it was normal practice to go across the border to look for a wife... Lindy ;)))))))))))))))) |

Hello everyone, It is still hot an humid and most likely I shall be sleeping on the floor downstairs in the lounge again as it is the coolest place in the house... Roxanne, Linda Mc D. and Maid Marion, Thank you for your kind words, it is nice to know that you are missed....even if it just for a little while. Jen Red and Purple, Hope that you are happy in your new home...have not yet heard from your friend.. Green wine is made from a special white, acid grape that grows in the North of Portugal..As far as I know it does not grow anywhere else in Europe... The taste is great and is normally served with sea food. Mandy, My dear friend...I read that Marston has type 2 diabetics...nothing to worry about Vitor has had it for the last 15 years... Before vacation and holidays we are on a constant health diet...otherwise he eats and drinks what he likes...Vitor has the self testing kit so he know when he is being naughty... porridge is the best breakfast as it breaks down the sugar... If you can, buy a homeopathic medication called 'Noni' it is expensive but worthwhile as it cuts the sugar... Hiya Mary, My babies are well... thank you.., We stopped going to the beach a few years ago... not by choice...as I love the ocean, but for health reasons...so I enjoy our poolside life style. Jacqui, My dear friend ...the babies are fine and no we did not take them with us...It would have been unfair on them. It is very hot and humid and they associate the car with a trip to the vet...lol... Both boys are home so they were very spoiled... each sleeping in a a bed... Lunch is still on tomorrow and you are welcome to fly or is it 'bat' out here... I am so very hot and nothing seems to slate my thirst...Yes! I know my own fault as nobody told me to drink so many shandies.... Lindy;))))))))))))))))) |

Hi wondered where you were - glad you enjoyed the simple life. No what you mean about heat - very hot here in Spain too. We went to beach this morning with flask of coffee and a couple of cereal bars for brekkie - swim first then breakie. Wonderful. Hope your new babies are well - showed hubby the pics on MSN - they look wonderful bundles of fun. Take care Love Mary xxx |
