Trish, Uuugh just the thought of it makes me feel like chucking. I'ts about 2inches long with little beady black eyes. She got my other sis one as well and has dared us to neck them on new years day. It might happen if she plies us with enough alcohol.

Hi all Not so much weird but different! My husband adopted me a monkey at Paignton zoo! We go there every year on hols (Torquay not just the zoo, he he)and I could sit for hours watching them jump about.The nicest thing was he took notice of me watching them and went to all the effort of getting it for me (We live in Manchester) It was so nice I cried ! (how soft am I?) Happy New Year Jan x

Janet, That monkey pressy is so sweet cos your hubby has obviously thought about what you would like rather than buying wotever turns up. I've got another slightly odd pressy. It's a bit late cos it's from my best mate who owns a pub and is beyond busy at this time of year. She got a lantern made out of a bottle. I have to say it's a little strange but kind of pretty.

Hi!. We ran a sort of 'Secret Santa' scheme for the adults in my fambly who were 'gathered together' to open pressies. Thus my daughter had to buy a pressie for my sister in law - and they barely know each other. What she wanted bares no relation to what she got - which is an 'antiquarium' - which is a small 'picture' containing a blue gel, into which you put your own ants, and they tunnel in it and live in it entirely self sufficiently, and you can hang it on your living room wall. If you are squeamish about finding your own ants you can send for a phial - from Italy. The ants can live for many months apparently, and you just introduce some more when they eventually peg out. However, licking the gel and eating the ants is NOT advised! Rosi

UUrrggh Talking of ants my children recieved WORM WORLD one year you filled it with soil and put worms in it not my fav of course but it was ok They were enclosed in this tub thingy. Next year they recieved ANT WORLD we spent the day catching all these ants put them again into this tub thingy with leaves and what nots. Went into their bedroom the next day one of them had left the lid off and all the ants run off!! To this day I haven't got a clue where they went but even two years on I still think about them making their own colony under the floorboards! Happy New Year Jan x

When my lads were 6 & 7 they gave me a half eaten Toblerone :-|. They had been given it by a neighbour and didn't like it .... I have never let them forget it :-D. Still makes me laugh especially as they also gave me some paper clips and elastic bands.

For my 21st birthday,my husband bought me a plastic colander for the princely sum of 2/6,12 1/2 pence in todays money.

When I had my second baby he brought me a beautiful bunch of flowers,which upon inspection proved to be stolen from the cemetary,and he hadn't even bothered to remove the condolence card.

He died on our oldest Grandsons 21st because he was too mean to buy a gift. :-| :-| :-| :-P :-P :-P

I have had some disappointing gifts over the years, and probably managed to give some too, but can't remember anything really awful.

I do recall one Christmas, I must have been 11 as I think it was when I had started at the 'big' school. One girl had a lovely Pink Witch bike with straight handlebars and I went on and on about it. What did my Dad get me? A secondhand black traditional bike with a basket on the front, I was so disappointed but had to pretend to be pleased. I suppose it was all they could afford.
