HI Only a Aussie would call it Vegimite, The English call it Marmite I think. I live in Sydney with my husband and we have been retired 10 year, Decided to do my family tree as most of our relations come from England and Scotland and the children(3) wanted to know about where they came from and who their ancestors were. I am finding it very interesting as I have found people I new nothing about. You meet the nicest people on this site, so that makes it all the more enjoyable. Mary in Sydney |

Vegamite is from vegatable extract. Marmite is from meat extract. Hope this solves the difference problem. Deb |

Marmite is definitely NOT meat extract - it's yeast extract and is 100% vegetarian (it says on the jar). LOL Vegemite?? - Antipodean poor imitation! Marmite Lovers Support Group x P.S. I don't work and the kids have left home! Have you seen Paul's thread 'Who are you?' ?? |

OK, back to the real question - who are all these wonderful people in cyber space that I am busy writing to for help in my quest for the elusive branches to my family tree?? :) The Vegemite is best and thats just the end of that converstation group - LOL!! I'm a happy little vegemite as bright as bright can be......... |

MY MATE MARMITE!!! lol (We are all on Paul's thread - have a read.) We really wanted to fly across to Sydney when we were on holiday in NZ but we couldn't fit it in - perhaps we'll make it when we go again next year. Look forward to that. (even if it means I have to eat Vegemite lol) I would love to be near the bridge for New Year's Eve - my brother managed it a couple of years ago when he was over there for the cricket and said it was absolutely fantastic! I'm 21, and I live in Hampshire, England. But I was born in Kent (very proud of Gillingham Football Club DESPITE how rubbish they are doing right now). I have three older sisters, all of whom have left home. Caroline (eldest) is 30, married and living in Fishbourne, West Sussex. Claire is single (on and off, grrr she's so annoying!), aged 27 (soon to be 28) and works as an English teacher in North Carolina, USA. Andrea is married, aged 25 and has an almost one year old, Joseph. She lives in Sandhurst, Berkshire. I went to uni, I graduate on 18th November at Bristol Cathedral. I studied Psychology. I hope to get a masters in social work. I'm working until then though as a receptionist with a bunch of geriatrics that drive me around the bend! That's me! Chloe |
