Thanks for the good wishes. Although we're ex-pats we're doing the Turkey thing and making an indian vegetarian meal. We are having visitors, both American friends and some Indian friends who are only here for a year and don't eat meat. Not sure I can face turkey again in a month so I'm rooting for roast beef and yorkshire puddings for Christmas!

Thank you all for your replies. I have just heaved myself away from the table so while my daughters do the washing up (hee hee) I,m with my friends here. Just like Felicity, I don,t think I could face another turkey at Christmas. Roast beef and yorkshire sounds like a very good idea.

My wife in her youth was at Treloars (a bording School) with some US students on exchange, they celabrated Thanksgiving as a token of good will. It ended in a food fight. She says it was great fun even thou they were all gated for a week. Have a great day.

Hi everyone. Since I've lived here "forever" and since my husband and boys are American, we do celebrate Thanksgiving. We haven't eaten yet (it's just moments away!) but we're having the usual: turkey, stuffing, rolls, potatoes, corn, pumpkin (yuck) and cherry pies. To those living in the States, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. To those not living here, thank YOU for your good wishes. :~) Di, I'm hoping your poem works. :~)

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. I remember one happy time I celebrated in England with my then boyfriend, an American airman stationed here.
We lost touch in the 1980s tho when my son was born, and he married a blind girl from Norwich, we had long parted but stayed friends.
Todd, where ever you are, have a great celebration and raise a glass to me I hope.

This is the anniversary of the assassination of President John Kennedy, in 1963. I remember coming out of my evening class at our local College and hearing the news. I was 16.
