I know this is not quite what you are referring to, ( I dont shave my legs any more) but I never lock the door..................if I collapse or something I would like someone to be able to get to me,,,,,,,,,instead of 'OH, I havent seen him for weeks'!!!!!! Bob

PMSL Steedie, It's so hard going to the loo when you first move in with someone. Luckily my bathroom door does lock so I can have some privacy. I found it helped to buy nice air freshining things and toilet ducks. Dean used to run the tap at first and pretend he was brushing his teeth lol. Took us a few months but we've settled in together now and don't even think about it. I can even go to the loo the morning after and not be too embarassed! Jack xx

Steedie I would not be laughing, I'd be furious! I am so mild and quiet it's untrue but I would NOT put up with someone barging in, when it was obvious that you didn't want him to. Does he not respect that you have a right to privacy sometimes? I've been married a good few years but believe you can respect regarding privacy, without being prudish. Set your rules about this, and stick to them.

I know exactly what you mean. My little girl even tries to get on my knee when I'm on the loo! As for my son - well, after many false starts I now have him trained to knock on the bathroom door. He is getting the idea though becuase he was most indignant when his little sister walked in on him having a wee at the weekend! Abigail

The height of intimacy, eh? Nell, by the way, that book sounds good! Bit late for us now, but I'll tell hubby about the 80% of the wardrobe bit.

My boyfriend can pick the lock on the bathroom door and comes in when i am in the bath. He sits on the loo and talks to me!!! Very annoying.

Steedie When my husband and I first moved in together umpteen years ago, he got a book out of the library called 'Come live with me' which had ground rules for cohabiting. Things like how to sort out finances, establish privacy in the bathroom etc. I remember that one of the rules is that the female gets 80% of the wardrobe space. When we had kids we had one bathroom with the loo in it. I found both kids wanted to accompany me in there all the time. Later on, as soon as I sank into a relaxing foam bath there would be a knock on the door 'Need to do a poo NOW' . We now have a downstairs loo an upstairs bathroom with loo and my bedroom has an ensuite. Bliss! nell
