Does anybody know whether you can still collect Golliwogs form Robertsons Jam by saving the tokens on the back of jam jars? I remember I used to do this as a child, heaven knows where the badges are now though....................... Thanks, Jayne

I remember when the golliwogs were tucked into the label on the back of the jar, don't think you can get them now, they are not PC! Bev

As a child I had a golly... that I loved and I called him Blackie. Sounds just like yours, Dorothy. ... oops, can I say that? :-) Joy (with bouncebackability)

Hi Dorothy, I bought my wee son one about three years ago, so they are still sold. Only difference is they're now just called Gollies. Christine

My aunt made me a golliwog. I think he was just called Golly. He had a pair of red and white gingham pajamas and was very naughty. He always got sent out when I was teaching my dolls. nell

Nell If if was being naughty, then it was OK to send him out ... I hope that there was no other reason!

I had both a Gollie and a black doll called Topsy - my Dad bought her in Blackpool and I can just recall picking this doll - he told me she was black because she was born in the blackout. However in the early 90's my g.dau wanted a black doll - could we find one - could we heck and after about a year came across one in Lubeck, Germany. The strange thing is that in the 80's both times in November we were in Kenya and then St. Lucia. All the shops were decorated for Christmas and toys on display - not one black doll - all white - now that is crazy in a black country. Ann

They did stop selling golliwogs for a while but too many people complained about it - i think. Werent the golliwogs in Enid Blyton books removed because they were not PC? 'Tis a silly world nowadays.
