THANK YOU SUE ... Others have tried and failed, I have tried and failed ... !!! but you searched for my elusive Shawcross family till you found them ! at the address they SHOULD have been at all along ! EVEN WORSE ... they are down as William & Clara SCOTT !!!!!!!!!!! with daughter Mina (my WilhelMINA) and William ... I can not believe that this family have been found ! I'm now gonna complain to S & N (yes the company that hates me !!) and tell them that they have NOT street indexed the Yorkshire 1901 census correctly ! and that the Enumerator in 1901 was a fool and DEAF ! Shawcross sounds nothing like SCOTT !! .... unless he made notes and put down S crofs and then in a rush put Scott instead. The mind boggles ! SUE ...I LOVE YOU TO BITS. THANK YOU SO MUCH x See you soon babe. xxx Dancer x |

Hi Sue, Thanks for trying to find my Shawcross's ! I always did fancy the Attercliffe entry ...BUT ... Alfred aged 26 is correct .. I was hoping it was William aged 50, but have found Alfred Shawcross marrying Clara Dugan Dec 1896, double checked with the other couple: William 28 & Hannah Upton 23, they are also on 1901, so Alfred & Clara are a married couple in there own rites ! My William & Clara just left the country on a rocket ! ... along with 2 of their kids ! Cheers anyway babe. Dancer x And yes, I was waiting with baited breath when Doc tested the babies eye sight ! Son asked ' Do babies have red eye's then ?' ..... errrm .... ! |

Strange how fictitious characters get confused with real-life people. This William is a TV character in the 'William & Mary' series from the BBC and William Shawcross is an undertaker!! As for MARY she is a mid-wife. LOL |

Loved the start of the new series - other (not better)half dying to watch and then fell asleep all the way through, woke at the end and said 'What happened?' Grrrrr! Does that all the time - drives me bananas. I tried to give him a brief review then he said 'well how did they meet - it's been so long since the first series I've forgotten' He has the memory of a goldfish. BUT ashamed to say this time I can't quite recall either so can anyone help me out please? I think living with him is driving me doo lally, as they say in Norfolk. |

dancer.......... let me tell you a story ! what if- clara married william in 1894, and - seeing as how she was a wee bit younger than him...lol... he popped his clogs... and she remarried in march1/4 1895 [8d 649] to either a mr france, or a mr standeven. in oldham, gt manchester. is this a possibility ???? |
