My niece had this problem a few months ago and someone on here told me to try rinsing her hair with Listermint.....she hasnt had them since! Every week her mum rinses her hair with the mouthwash and leaves it on to dry...washing it off in the morning! Then twice a week before going to school she sprays her hair with half mouthwash and half water then lets it dry! Works for her and she was always getting them! Bev |

Hi Lynne, I have been very fortunate that my girls have not had them. But whilst buying products for my own hair, my hairdresser told me that this product is amazing when it comes to nits and that alot of her clients buy it for that reason because of word of mouth..It's L'oreal Professional Range :-Liss Extreme, it is actually a Serum for perfect shine but it makes the hair so silky it's very hard for the lice to attach themselves. I haven't used it for that reason, but I can vouch for it being a great product and smells lovely too. It goes on towel dry hair and you don't wash it out..And if you use it on hair with nits they just slip out really easy.. Susie |

Hi Lynn, There is a battery operated comb available which you use to comb the hair, when it comes into contact with the eggs it zaps them, killing them off. It is not as bad as it sounds and is harmless to us. I purchased one from Betterware and use it once a week for my daughter who has extremely long hair and have had no problems since. Regards Shona |

Sadly Deannna schools dont have nit nurses anymore... and what's worse, they are not allowed to send children home anymore either if they have nits. The children are not allowed to be singled out. You dont have to pay for Nit treatment any more.. or go to the doctors.. Boots the chemists run a scheme called 'Pharmacy first', all you have to do is sign up and they can prescribe the Nit treatment from the pharmacy for free... they claim back from the government the same way the doctor does. This also applies to minor ailments such as coughs etc. Em. |

Lynne, have you reported it to the school? Until THEY get it under control, you never will. I used to go straight up to the school if my kids got them. the Head will then call in a nurse, or what ever they do today, and they will find the source. Good luck. It is no fun is it? Deanna |
