On how to make 'We're going to look at gravestones around High Wycombe on Sunday morning' sound more enticing to a genealogically disinterested partner?

It's amazing how much wildlife you can find in country graveyards. Some very rare wild flowers have been found. A photo of one of them could be a nice little earner. Gwynne

How about 'I've found this great pub to go to for lunch on sunday, just next to a delightful graveyard' Helen :-)

I'd go with Mandy's idea... Or offer a reward for a really good picture of the church (especially if the colouring in is neat!) lol becx

The pub lunch is taken for granted with us ;) but Gwynne's idea is novel lol Last time we went hunting for graves I said it would mean I spent less on certificates but he now knows that for the lie it was

I've always found bribery works quite well... If that doesn't work then I'd sulk until I got my own way... becx (Not a high maintenance partner... MUCH)

Right, David - where is he?!! (Stomping around, ready to breathe fire over anybody calling genealogists half-wits). And as for the 'lie' you mentioned just now, I wouldn't say it's a lie - perhaps being economical with the truth .........

Deranged half wits! Absolute rubbish! My holiday plans this summer are completely normal : London (historical monuments and British Library), Portchester (nice castle and graves), Birmingham (NEC and library with missionary details), Ipswich (pretty town centre, records office and oh yes - more graves!) - you see what could be nicer for all the family? Helen :-)

Unknown Report 6 May 2005 17:48

Glenys It was a big fat lie cos I'd already ordered them ;)
