I only have 1 toy left from my childhood and that is a hornby train set. It is 30 years old this year and still has the original packing for many of the carriages and wagons. What is the earliest toy from your childhood that you still have? |

I have a sheepskin Teddy bear. Not sure of it's exact age but must be over 50. It has virtually no fur on it's back as I used to put it on my shoulder and rub it's back as I saw my mother doing to my baby sister. |

I have my old trike from when I was a toddler. I painted it up with enamel paints a few years ago for my own kids - good as new! Also have a bear, well my daughter has it on her bed! Think there are a few other things at my mum's. She has some lovely dolls from when she was a girl in the 20's - with china faces/hands. My fave toy (that I sadly DON'T have) was my doggy on wheels. I used to LOVE him! In-laws bought one for my kids and they loved him too! Maz.XX |

My Mum was the opposite to a hoarder. Not in use, chuck it out. Consequently I have saved some of my childrens toys and my little grandson loves playing with his uncles garage and action men and my grand daughter with Mum's dolls house and Sindy dolls Wish my Mum had saved something Linsa |

No .. i dont think i could sell mine either.. although i was tempted to put it on ebay one time. eventhough i never use it now ...i just dont think i could sell it. It rekindles a time in my childhood of when i was happy. It was probably the best toy.. that i ever had bought me. Who knows .. i now have a 10 week old son .. i might just keep it and pass it onto him. ...cant compete with an x box though or a computer can it. |

Howard - Is that little glass engine about 4-5' long and 2-3' tall and hollow? - If so I've got one too. It used to belong at my Mum's - and when first bought would have held sweets according to what she told me at the time. My elder brother is 64 years old so sounds the right age too. Amazing they survived really isn't it? I have a toy dog. A grey balding 'scottie' dog shape stuffed with wood shavings. Not sure what the remaining fur is made of - not synthetic anyway. It's not mine but was given to my son when he was about three by my elderly neighbour. It used to belong to him. Fred was well into his eighties when he died and that was around 25 years ago - so I guess this dog is pretty ancient! Magsxx |
