It's does'nt redirect me anywhere. It does'nt Freeze. It seems to be working purrfectly. Apart from on Here. I've phoned Pc shop and They have said if I get any more bother in the next couple of days. i.e Tree deletes itself yet again to take it to them. Maureen

Maureen, I am a dumbo when it comes to computers but I do know that it is possible for an expert to read everything that has been put on your computer. This will not stop anyone altering your password if they have your email address and your password. I am inclined to think it may be a virus that has attached itself to your login on Genes. I hope you are able to get to the bottom of this it must feel like someone is invading your privacy. Hugs. June xx

Maureen Sorry to hear of all your troubles, you certainly have more patience than myself. I think I would have just given up. But a warning to everyone when you are leaving the site SIGN OUT and I shall certainly be doing that from now on. Best wishes I hope it's OK now. Pat

Hi Im so sorry this keeps happening. Can you pinpoint the first day it happened? If so then try restoring your pc back to a previous setting. Start/all programs/accessories/system tools/ system restore. Follow the instructions and it will be set back to how it was on the date you choose. Then update your virus and firewall etc, then log in to genes. See if that does anything for you. It really does sound like you've been hacked to me and it may not only be Genes thats affected. Dont do any online shopping etc until you know your PC is okay. If it is okay and it happens again, then it must be a GR fault. Have you let any contacts access your tree? They may possibly have been deleting it. Hope it gets sorted. Vikki

Maureen I had no idea my machine was doing its own thing.....it only came to light when it sent weird emails to my entire contact list. Hubby eventually traced it back, the trojen had been attached for over 4 weeks and had been slowly doing the damage. He found it by using a tracking (means nothing to me). When he found it, he tried to fix it, instead the machine shut itself down and it wouldnt start again, it had lost its whole memory when Dave finally got it to start up. Alot of people wouldnt believe a machine could do its own thing, but a trojen is very powerful. Donna

Hullo Ladies, in case you may have overlooked something.... Even though you have all the spyware killers, virus catchers etc, it still wont work unless you disable your System Restore. Any trojan, Virus, I am sure will hide in there..........then you do your virus check... Bob If you go to your virus site you will find out how to disable system restore......and then re enable it
