A few months ago I (after it was suggested to me by Bev from Denton) contacted the Mirror Newspaper to nominate Gaynor and Diana for the 'Pride of Britain' Awards. I have had an email today to say that their story/stories will be passed onto the judging panel and considered for awards. We won't know anything until later in the year but until then let's all cross everything we can!!! Becx P.S. BIG thank you to all of those that contributed to the nomination text. |

I didn't do it publicly on here as there was a lot going on at the time and I didn't want Gaynor and Diana to know (Jack and family knew). However in my correspondance with the organisers I did tell them that you were all behind the nominations. love becx |

Hi Bec, Brilliant!! - Everything crossed but not quite as much as Paul! LOL I assume from that they have got through the 'preliminary rounds'? I do hope so - they both so richly deserve the award and the recognition. I hadn't realised that Pink was to be nominated - I wish I had known. I could have written something about her too. Everyone knows what a hard working, cheerful, do anything, game for a laugh person Diana is, but how many people realise how KIND she is? I owe her a lot. Magsxxx |

Yes they're through the preliminary round!!!! The lovely lady I've been emailing explained that there are many people nominated who deserve an award and not everyone can win one but let's hope they realise how amazing Diana and Gaynor are! becx |
