Just found some Linka for sale on ebay. Brought back memories.

Does anyone remember 'Linka'. It came in powder form, you mixed it with water and poured it in rubber moulds. You left it in the airing cupboard to set hard and then popped out the individual bricks to make a house. You could then paint it. It was so frustrating as the bricks would break when you used to pop them out of the mould. It took ages to make a tiny house. I gave up and went back to lego.

What about my plastic projector which had a film strip with a few 'slides' on it to constitute a story. I 'showed my film' on the bedroom wall, and my sister charged us pennies for chocolates from her little plastic chocolate dispenser. And yes, I sneakily bought clackers with my pocket money too - kept them hidden as they were banned at home and school - too many broken wrists! LOL! Sue (in NZ, but in England then)

My girls had the little striped dolls buggies, that must have been in the late 70s-80s. Who remembers the little plastic red dolls pram? Margaret

Sue/Gwyneth Didn't realise that Viewmasters dated back to then or that they were still going strong! Had a whole load of discs from kids tv series when I was a kid. We must also have had shares in MB games during my childhood, first game I remember having was Dragster where you powered these tiny plastic cars with the flick of a marble.

Andy I had a View Master in the 1950s! It was sent to me by my Grandmother in Canada and I don't think you could get them in England then. My 6 year old grandson had one for Christmas last year. My reels were of Tarzan and the Night Before Christmas and Mickey Mouse, wheras his are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers! LOL Anyone remember the Evel Knievel bike? You put it on the base and wound the handle and it did wheelies - well it did on the TV adverts anyway! My son (born 1971) got so frustrated with his because he couldn't get it to work that he threw it in next doors fish pond! Sue xx

Have to admit I don't remember much of the 70s (was less than 5 at the time), but anyone remember those Viewfinder thingamejiggies? They were red in colour and you inserted a circular disc into them, which had pics from say Scooby Doo, or Pete's Dragon etc and you held the Viewfinder up to your eyes, like binoculars to see the pics. I think they were probably more 80s than 70s, and I'm certain they had a brand name rather than just Viewfinder.
