I went to a 21st Birthday Party in the house across the road, with my Mum....we got back a bit late and my Dad had locked the door!!!! So my dear Mum says, lets go round to the back of the house she had a way in!!!! She found an old knife in the shed and proceeds to slide the catch on the window in the Kitchen....then she tells me to climb in and unlock the door..... A trick I remembered a few years later and used on more than one occassion. So you're Mother can teach you all sorts of good tricks!!!!! Jacquie xxxx

So all i need, once Ive found out where you live, go armed with a metal pickup thingy, a small knife, a trowel and a metal detector.......and a mobile phone....... Hmmmm !!! better start collecting........... Bob

My husband locked me in once... my house keys were out in the car and he went out and locked the front door.. my back door was open so i went through into my neighbours back yard (we live in a terrace) but her 8ft gate was locked, i could see her and hubby who are both over 90yrs sat in the dinning room, he is blind and deaf and she is hard of hearing and was sat with her back to me.. i spend almost an hour banging on her door and window but to no avail. I had to ring my friends hubby who is a plod to come and rescue me... i put the keys for the car out of the window and he went and got my house keys for me.. they thought for ages my hubby had 'locked' me to stop me going out spending money! lol xx

I locked myself out a few years back. It was a lovely sunny day thank god....but.....i had a pretty short skirt on and high heels.....i lived in a first floor maisonette....some how i managed to crawl up the shed, the only window i could get to was the kitchen....so theres me trying to get one leg at a time in.....anyone about must have had full view of my knickers (actually thong). Im now very careful with my keys when i get the shopping from the car!!

Bob....you wouldn't have to arm yourself with anything....I don't lock my doors...... Have 5....very large dogs though!!!!! Jacquie xxxx

I0 years ago I locked Ellie in the car quite by accident when she was a baby. We were parked right outside the chemist in the village and rather than get her out of her baby seat I left her in the car and went in to pick up a prescription. Not thinking, I automatically pushed down the door lock and closed the door, forgetting that all the other locks were down and my keys were still in the ignition. Very old car by the way!!! No windows open and an extremely hot August day so as you can imagine I was panicking somewhat. The chemist rang for the police to come and help unlock the car and someone else ran to a nearby petrol station to ask if anyone could help as we didn't know when or if the police would come. Within 3 minutes a policeman had arrived just in time to see a rather helpful young lad scuttle away with a coat hanger having successfully opened my car in less than 10 seconds. The policeman bless him said 'I don't think I want to know how he did that!' Daisy

Gosh Daisy...you have just reminded me....probably wanted to forget....felt such a bad mother.... When my oldest daughter was a baby she was fast asleep indoors and I just popped out the back to put some washing on the line....the door slammed behind me and I had no key. I had to find a neighbour who kindly came to my aid...he had to open the back window (to this day I don't know how!!!) which I know was locked!!!! Happy ending though after about 1 1/2 hrs....she was still asleep and non the wiser....I was, however, wiser that is!! Jacquie xxx

Hi Margaret. Never locked myself out, but I have locked my partner in. I had his keys in my handbag one morning as he told me the night before to put them in bag when we were out. So the next morning, I had locked the patio and front door and he was locked in all day, could even open a window for fresh air LOL, so he sat there all day watching TV until i came home from work. Got locked into my old flat one day. Living by self with a 2 yrold i used to double lock the door at night for safety. get up one morning to meet my sister at the hospital for her daughters scan ( she didn't wanna be alone in case it was bad news) Only to find i couldn't opne the lock!!!! I had no fone and it was pre mobile days!!!!! I tried banging on the wall for neighbour i even jumped up and down in sitting room hoping downstair neighbour would come and tell me to shut up. Nothing. In the end i had to scream out of window to a passer by who kindly came up and open the door from the outside!!!! In the same flat...... I managed to drop my keys justoutside on the way out. We went to the pub and had a couple came home. NO keys... assume i've left them in the pub, So we rush back to the pub and in our rush to get there before closing Dean clips the kerb giving us a flat tyre. So we had to wait at teh pub for BIL in come and resuce us cos of course the spare was flat!!! OH and by the way the key weren't in the pub. So we're stuck outside the flat, can't even get into the hall as it's entry phone. it was late so we had no idea who to call. In end we went to police station but they had closed at 11pm. We called locksmiths but all wanted in the region of £200, which we didn't have. I'm starting to panic as Kerry was only3 and the twins under 6 mths. In the end i went back to the police station and used the emergenct phone outside and sobbed down teh phone about being a stranded witht eh kids etc etc. Two very burly policeman came to the flat and with one swift kick the door opened!!!!! And of course when i went to the station the next day on the of chance my keys had been handed in......... they had been. So if the station had been open all the stress/bother etc could've been sawed Have been locked out of this house too, but a long stick enabled us to reach latch and flick it open, worrying how easy it was!!!! But we now have new front door that doesn't lock unless you turn the key!!!
