Poor lad, typical boy thing eh? Hope he has no exams or owt. It might help him to heal faster if you give him comfrey, is it? I think the old name for that is knitbone. Hope he gets well soon and gives you a relatively hassle-free summer.

Well it's been a long day with a long round trip on top of it all, but it seems the op was a sucess. Sam doesn't seem to have any nerve damage. He's got full movement and sensation, though he's still pretty sore. Took some photos of the X Rays.... WOW!! 2 plates with 7 screws in each !!! They'll have to be removed in 12 to 18 months.I'll try and send them up to the Photo Page. God bless the surgical team :~D Thanks for all your kind thoughts, I'm sure all the positive energy helped.
