Hiya Dave How's your Mum? Are you getting any help yet? I've had various needles jabbed in various bits of me, ecg etc., no sign of any real trouble, but one doctor mentioned 'pulmonary embolisim' & 'fluid around the heart' at 2 am, couldn't sleep after that (not suprising!!) then different Doc this morning said 'Torn muscle' & sent me home! Pain is still there & i'm not feeling very confident as you can imagine!!Lol! Joan x

My Father has Angina - he thought it was just indigestion at first! He had a triple by pass 18 months ago and you wouldn't know there had ever been anything wrong with him - I can't keep up! Just a thought - I used to get chest pains and Doc told me it was muscular (was worried about Asthma). Some years later I started seeing a chiropractor for my dodgy back - after the first session I felt better. The vertebrae (spelling?) in the centre of my back (between shoulder blades) seem to be the culprits and when my chiro puts them back I often feel a pocket of wind move! Hope you get sorted soon. K x

Dave You should not have permanent symptons. Have you had an angiogram?

I was getting awful chest pains, but it turned out to be a hiatus hernia, they thought it was my gall bladder first.

About four years ago I had the most awful bout of indigestion one evening. Drank half a bottle of anti-acid formula over about three hours. Phoned my friend who is a nurse and, knowing I am as healthy as a horse, she suggested I go to the hospital. Ignored her and went to bed. One a.m. I could bear it no longer and did as she suggested. Turned out to be a heart attack and spent a couple of weeks in hospital. Lost one quarter of my my heart muscle and had to have an angiogram. Apparently the symptoms for a woman can be different from those for a man. Quite scary - and now I listen to my friend. Been fit as a fiddle ever since. The point is- if you have something unusual happen - it pays to have it checked out immediately. I guess I was very lucky!

Thanks everyone. I have had an ECG is that the same as an angiogram? ECG was fine. Doc has told me as pain is usually worse when i'm moving around, more likely muscular. I always have pins & needles in both hands anyway(that's another story!! LOL) Pain is worse when lying down, particular when trying to sleep on left side. Hopefully rest will sort it out. Still very painful, can a torn chest muscle be that painful? Joan x

Joan - it really might be worth seeing a Chiropractor, or similar, even if it's muscular as they can help a lot. I thought something was wrong when I started getting pains in my left leg and left arm - doc said that was muscular, then I started getting pins and needles in my left hand. My Mum is a Nurse and said she thought it was a trapped nerve. I booked a session with a Chiropractor and it was indeed a trapped nerve - more than one. Don't put up with it just because the doc says there's nothing he can do - I dread to think where I would be now if I had. Kaye x

I get a lot of palpitations - told doc , he doesnt seem to be worried (but I am) I understand ladies of a certain age get them, but its nearly every day. scarey. I took hubby to hospital one night with pains in his chest, they did a ecg (he thought he would leave with a qualification!) but they said torn muscle in his back! The funny thing was while we were waiting to go in I gave him a polo, but one of the ones that have bits of blue spearmint in them. Well, when the doctor examined him, out popped this bright blue tongue. I will never forget that doctors face! It is a frightening thing though. I get indigestion a lot and often wonder
