Definitely the idea of Gwynne and others - go dressed to the nines and say you are just popping in for an hour and then you have another engagement, so sorry you couldn't dress up in fancy dress. He will spend the rest of the evening wondering where you have gone. Good luck.

Bec You're already better than her and way better than him. If you really do have to go don't even attempt to compete. Neither of them are worth the effort and you're worth more than this. Daisy

Hi Bec, I came over to the UK in Jan for my god daughters 18th which was fancy dress. I got my costume off of this website.. buy(.)costume(.)com it has loads of different ones and a whole section on sexy but not over the top if you know what I mean. My friend and I bought both of ours from there and it only cost about £12.00, which means if you ruin it, it doesnt matter. It will give you some good ideas anyway hun. Debs x

Bec, Go as a Headmistress in a black gown and mortarboard with something short and glam underneath. Make sure you've got a cane as well, then you can whack her when she gets within striking distance - and him as well!!! Don't forget which 'do' you're going to, though, and end up dressed like that at the London Meet! Or, on second thoughts, maybe that would be appreciated by certain members! LoL Whatever you decide, love, hope you have lots of fun! ;>) CB >|< XX P S Just read through the earlier replies. Do NOT go as 'a secretary'. 30 years of experience taught me that you end up with with the wrong type and a lot of short hands in all the wrong places!!!

Appart from the fact that as he's your ex you should really show him that you don't give a toss what he wants to read into you not turning up.......... Go for an elegant outfit rather than the comedy, sexy image that his new bird is going for.......... Understated wins every time!!!!!!!! Mandy

Thank you to all my Aunties and Uncle (Fred) I will be going to this party because I have been personally invited and it was suggested that if I didn't go he'd assume it was because I couldn't face seeing him on a special occasion (load of rubbish!) Will have a think about what to go as and will let you all know Thank you for your advice and support, love you all lots Becx

Hi Becx, I'm with the others. You don't need to lower yourself. But if you feel you HAVE to go then don't go in fancy dress. Go dolled up to the nines and have a taxi pick you up half an hour after you arrive (even if it only takes you home). Say you were so pleased to be invited so had to call in to say hello but you have another engagement and can't stay. Gwynne

Deb Vancouver (18665) Report 24 Jun 2005 03:55

Bec, Don't put yourself through turmoil for an EX. Don't go. That will leave him wondering ,will it not?? Having read your threads in the past over the heartache this excuse for a man has caused you, he's not worth it. If you do decide to go, just make a fleeting appearance. Smile, act cordial, be the best you can be - then leave. I wouldn't bother getting into fancy dress - Just dress to kill! from another Aunty- Deb

Mags reference the ditto it was me with more guinness lol Well have to say if I was drinking gin I would be asleep in minutes, can't keep awake with the stuff lol, this is funny only mentioned that tonight. This place is spooky, yesterday Lynda's thread about lost stuff spooked me. Its sticky in Bristo, must be sticky all over the place, Maz in Cornwall has the nasty rain which is probably on its way here as I speak. Mags do you know Quedgley must ask Ann in Glos , how silly is that I am in contact througn her midlands folk anyway Hardwicke and Quedgley I have folk from 1865 time just like to know if those areas are still very rural or very built up?
