I have just had a message from a member that ordered, sent cheque for and received her mini GB. On checking her bank statement, she finds, the cheque that she sent has not been taken out of her account. I am positive that the cheque was paid into my hubby's account along with loads of others, totalling £963.00 on the 31st May. The total amount paid in has definatley appeared on my hubbies bank statement. I presume subject to clearance. It took me ages to pay such a lot of cheques into my husband's account.. We are only presuming at the moment that all cheques received have been cleared. We have had none rejected. We would be very grateful if any others that sent a cheque to pay for their mini GB's would check that there cheque has been cleared. Jenny.

It takes 5/7 working days for checks to clear

Can't remember seeing mine cleared but I will check with the bank for ya!!

Hi Mine cleared on 31st May. If the cheque is for the same bank as you pay it in it the cheque should debit the same day, otherwise they should debit 2 days later. ie in your case on the 2nd June. If you can get the bank sort code & account number off of the person that has given you the missing cheque, the branch you paid it in at should have a record of all the chqs that went through with the credit! Cheuqes paid into a bank take 4 working days to clear. Hope this helps Penny (a banker!)

Mines been banked babe! And Ann - the bank have 43 cheques at present that they are processing into our new account and yours is definitely one of those so please bear (excuse the pun) with me but it should be cleared by the end of next week!

My cheque (which I THINK I may have made payable to The Pink Fund) was cleared today, 29th June. I've found that by checking my online banking statements. Odd though. Whereas under 'payment type' half a dozen other cheques are listed as CHQ; the one in question is listed as PAY. Any banker got an explanation for that? Brian, ;</

Brian, no explanation but if it was for the bears it was payable to Jenny's husband not the Pink Fund as they are not ours!! Jenny organised this and was kind enough to add a bit so we will get a donation from them! :O)

Brian. I did get a cheque for a bear that had been made payable to 'The Pink fund' Will not put the surname up on here though. I just slipped it in with the other Pink Fund cheques. Think hubbies bank account can stand it. Lol. The sale of the mini GB's has raised £455.50p so far for The Pink Fund. Thank you all for your replies. Jenny.

Hi Brian In answer to your PAY/CHQ question I think it says PAY - if it is paid in over the counter of one of your banks branches. CHQ - if it is paid in elsewhere so goes through the normal cheque clearing Don't know why though!! Penny
