I was at the Olympic Games in Munich and as shocked as I was at the time, recent events have been more shocking. I think with the security measures we have now, Al Queda and there like will not target 'obvious' events such as the Olympics and I for one will feel quite safe attending the 2012 Olympics. |

yes - the olympics are open to any country - no matter what - and I agree -we cant let our fears stop this happening - its a great thing for the UK - and even before a bid was made the plans for security would have been thought out. |

Lisa I am sure the security services are already on the case. We can't spend our lives worrying. I went to college in London and worked there all through the IRA bombing campaign, the Moorgate tube disaster, the Kings X fire etc. All we can do is take precautions. nell |

I can remember it. Tragic. But we cannot, as a country, live our lives in fear. Deanna |

I can see your point but if that's the case why has it not happened at other big events? Sarah, xxx |

i understand what you mean, i always think any mass gathering, especially being international could be a potential target for terrorism, its scary |

France probably got whiff of an impending attack and begged the IOC to give London the games. |
