Maz from Cornwall Report 9 Jul 2005 03:04

Melinda St Ives is a very hilly place, but if you are looking to go to the beach, the best one would be Porthminster, you can park in the Station carpark and it is down some steps, most of them have long steps leading to them, but the closest access to take a car would be Porthminster! When are you going?

The graveyard you speak of would be Barnoon Cemetry on top of Porthmeor Hill Deb! And we have lots of very narrow streets in St Ives, but I can imagine the one you are talking about to be called The Digey! A narrow cobbled street, at the end of Fore Street the main cobbled street in the town centre!

Deb Vancouver (18665) Report 9 Jul 2005 02:57

We had rented a motorhome (not a big one) in Liverpool and drove all over. We were going down a street in St. Ives, but the road was getting narrower and narrower. The side mirrors just about touching the houses on either side. We ended up backing up all the way, as we couldn't go forward! Funny what you remember. Also I have pictures of the graveyard there (up on a hill) Hubby thought I was weird, but then again he still thinks I am - looking for dead people all the time. Deb
