Or do any of you keep a certain amount of your true selves hidden!! I for one keep some of myself well hidden, after all at the moment none of you even know what i look like, but i wonder sometimes if we are open to judgement, just because we add to these boards. Just a thought Helen |

I think I do to a certain extent... although private stuff I keep private... 'normal' stuff, I don't mind sharing with all you lovely people. Some people on here know me... know I can be out of my tree now and then, but I think they also know that I am a genuine person... who tells the truth, as I know it and not as I see it!! Crikey... this is very deep for such an early morning !! lol Anne :))) |

I think I'm me, although perhaps a slightly exaggerated me sometimes. Like others have said, I don't every detail of my private life on here, because it's just that - private. |

I would LIKE to think that nobody on here actually pretends to be something they're not - but I don't actually believe it! I'm definitely me on here - those who have met me will testify! What you see is what you get! Maz. XX |

wendy... saw the pictures... ouch I agree with the private life stuff... there's a certain amount I'm willing to make public, but some things are best kept for private conversations, even if thats on MSN/Mail etc As someone recently found out, I do not like being gossipped about. She's no longer a friend. |

Hi Roxanne, Its not the personal things, but the real you!! personalities can only be seen so far, with a sense of humour, i see you Roxanne as quite a serious person who would solve all the problems in the world if you could, i mean that in the nicest way!! you have a very compassionate nature to all things living, and you also have a good sense of humour, is that you?? i always feel drawn to talking to you!! it would be interesting to know how everyone see's me!! just feeling low at the moment, like the little whaif sitting in the corner. Jonnie no mates lol Helenxx |

oh I would also say that everyone I have actually MET has turned out to be just about how they are on here - haven't uncovered any fakers yet !!! I've met quite a few members too, so hopefully that means that the majority ARE honest about themselves. No-one expects your deepest darkest secrets to be aired in public, but I would hope for honesty of opinions and personalities. Maz. XX |

Jules, you're absolutely correct, there are always people like that around, fortunately they usually can't keep up the pretense and you can spot them... just not immediately sometimes. |

We all hold some things back, mainly because these days we don't put private information into the public domain for fear of it being misused. Also things between us and family members are often very private so we don't put those on here. well I don't anyway. Otherwise, my thoughts and opinions that you see on here are me. I never pretend to be something I am not. I hope those who have met me will agree that 'what you see is what you get'. I am fairly open and honest, charitable, caring, sometimes a bit brusque, not very extrovert, have a sense of humour but tend not to join in the extrovert threads (pantomime, village, most long ongoing threads). Might sometimes see some things as a bit juvenile - but then I am 65 (nearly) -. And I don't feel that just because i don't like a thread it shouldn't be there so i just ignore them. Ann Glos |

Hi, I post as I am but keep a lot of private stuff away from the boards. (Birthdays for example - or at least I try to.) But I don't condemn others who reveal more. I've had 'private' email and msn conversations with a few people from here and some have become friends. I have met a few people as well and talked on the phone. I have a very close pen/email friend of many years standing who I have never met - different continents etc - but we know each other inside out. Everyone is a potential friend until they prove to be otherwise. Sorry if that sounds a bit hippy but that's me. Gwynne |

I don't share stuff on the boards that I think is too personal to me. If I have something say, that I'm finding difficult to cope with then I'd rather confide privately with someone I know I can trust. I think my true self is located somewhere between the shyer side and the clowning about side of my personality. One probably compensates for the other. |

Some things in my life are very private and I would not divulge them somewhere for thousands of people to read. Having said that, in non-cyber life I have been told that I am very transparent and easily read! This is me - whatever you see in what I say. :-) Joy PS my photos are on page 3 at present on the photos site |

I don't 'speak' a lot on here (which isn't like me as friends who know me personally can justify) but what I do contribute is what I truthfully feel. I don't hide anything, but I don't feel I know you all well enough to reveal everything. Yes I think I am true to myself without revealing too much personal info. Claire xx |
