Have just noticed a HUGE circular bruise on Sharon's thigh - it's about 2' in diameter, really black/purple, and feels slightly 'raised'. We have no idea how this happened, she can't remember banging it on anything, and I'm sure it wasn't there last night, I would have noticed ! Anyone know what might cause this ? |

I should add that we spent yesterday at a concert in Hyde Park, and were crammed in like sardines, stood in one spot for several hours... only mention this because I just read something about DVT :S |

Could it be that Sharon got bashed without realising it at the concert and the bruise has taken a while to come up? I hope you're giving her lots of TLC. |

Paul... Please listen very carefully to me... I have suffered from DVT on a few occasions, and this has happened to me before.. a very large, very black bruise, not sore, not painful.. It turned out to be a blood clot that had burst, so my advise would be to ring the NHS Direct and have a talk with them. NHS DIRECT 0845 46 47 Maz x |

I'd suggest it but I bet she won't - she's stubborn lol (plus she has work tomorrow - but she could, and might, go on Tuesday. I think it's likely that she's just burst a blood vessel - it was a long and tiring day yesterday, by the time we got back to the hotel, everything ached. Think we're getting too old for this concert lark lol |

OK, the nice lady from NHS direct says... keep our eye on it. If it changes, or more appear then go to the doctor. Apply a cold compress. keep it raised. How do you keep your thigh raised apart from laying with your legs up in the air ? hmmm there's an idea lol Thanks for your concern everyone... think we're off to bed now (NOT relevant to the above comment lol) P&S xx |
