I would choose to relive anytime before 1979 when my grandma was still alive so I could spend more precious moments with her! Marie PS And if I could change anything it would be just to ask her all those questions that I never asked at the time about my family history!

Well apart from the usual, days my boys and Grandchildren were born The best day of my life was the day the Mortgage on the house was paid. Hubby and I paid it off in 12 years and we went out and Celebrated that night. It was such a special feeling. That was many years ago now Regards Jackie

January 1946.I had finally come home from being evacuated from 1939. I went away the baby aged 2 1/2 and came home 6plus years later & there were three more kids already at home.The youngest was a baby ,my bro Alan aged 4 months. I HATED with a passion the last family I was with in Birmingham for 2 plus years. The mother was very unkind to me!!!. Remember my Mums youngest bro,my Uncle Len,who was in the navy, coming to fetch me from Birmingham.I sat there all ready just Waitin.......g for him to arrive. The lady of the house insisited on giving him tea & cake & making out she was such a careing person,all goo goo over him. I was impatient to leavebut had to wait whilst she listed all my surposed shortcomings!!! I was 8 years old!!!. Finaly said to him can we leave & was overjoyed when he said we must be going cos got the train to get.I Couldnt get out that front door fast enough & Had to prompted to say a very surly GOODBYE. I loved the train rides home to London then on to SE London & the joy on my Mums face when she saw me & smothered me with kisses.Uncle Len passed on the comments from the lady But my mum didnt want to know. We had an outside lavvy & I needed the loo, was there alittle time when Mum came out to see if i was alright, she stood in the doorway & her eyes filled with tears as I finished what I had to & as I stood up she enveloped me in her arms & held me so tight and said how much she loved me & was so glad I was home & now the family were all together again. I never felt so loved as in that moment standing in the lavvy with me pants still down!! Shirley

Well, at the moment, its that I'd like to ask my late Grandparents and Great Uncles and Aunts lots of questions about their parents and siblings, generally getting a lot of info! Other than genealogy-related bits, can't think of anything at the moment, but give me a few minutes and I'll think of something! Ah - forget that last bit, we're going out soon. x P.S. I would love to see my Dad again when he saw his 1st grandaughter back in June 1965. And to make sure he saw more of her and me before he died in 1967. Sue

I would love to go back to 28th August 1978(bank holiday) i spent it with hubby and kids and all my family Mum and Dad it was fantastic i cuddled my dad and told him he was soooooo special to me, he died suddenly on the 30th August 1978, it was the last time we spent a whole day together, i remember it as if it was yesterday Bow

Christmas Day 2003 Having spent the morning with my family I went to my then boyfriend's parents house. His sisters, their partners and children were there and it was a true family atmosphere. From playing charades to watching cartoons with the kids, it was a fantastic day and one that I'll never forget. I've never felt so normal, loved and happy! becx

Hi David, Yet another thought-provoking thread! I would like to go back to 1974 when I first met my husband at a friend's wedding in Widdecombe in the Moor, Devon. We ended up shouting at each other, because the music at the reception was SO LOUD you couldn't hear the other person lol!! Then a group of Freemason's wives had a scrap in the hotel car park, very surreal, while we watched in amazement. The next morning I realised I had met someone special, aaaah. So here we are .... years later. Sue

I'd choose something quite simple - to go back to a summer holiday in the Isle of Wight in the late 1980s, when our son was still at primary school. The weather was glorious, our lovely dog was with us, the location was ideal for a family holiday, and we all had a marvellous, carefree time. There have been other times that produced a 'high', but nothing beats the relaxation factor produced by that idyllic holiday. CB >|<

Me too, when ive choked my girls off in the past for something, i have cringed knowing i did far worse. One day my daughter came home and handed me a photo that her friends Father had given her to give to me, it was only one of me dancing on a table at a party, mini skirt an all,no doubt a few vodkas inside me as well. the friends father reckons he went out with me , but i think its a bit of wishful thinking on his part.lol, lol.

Oooh David, you're still asking awkward questions lol ...!! I can't say my wedding day because let's say 'certain people' interfered and changed things, so that it wasn't how I wanted it .... and I can't say the day Jordan was born because he was ill and moved to another hospital without me. Hmmmm.... despite the emotional turmoil I've been through lately, I still think life pretty much began at 40 for me and I'm planning to live for the moment and enjoy life. The only thing I truly miss from my past is my nan. Although she always favoured boys, she bucked the trend with me because I was adopted (she couldn't understand how anyone could 'give away' their baby lol!) and we were really close. She's been gone 24 years now but I still miss her terribly and would give anything to have a few more days with her. Mandy :)

You are right about the 60's Shirley boy if our kids knew about then when I think I did the most stupidest (spl?) things. I would have slaughtered my daughter if she had behaved like that. LOL!!!! Germaine x

I too had a fantastic childhood, i was surely blessed with a wondreful family. BUT the 60s was the most wonderful craziest time of my life, don't remember a night when i wasn't out raving. I tell you my kids would be shocked.lol Shirley Ann.

Snap Shirley I loved me teenage years. But also the fifties had such a happy child hood think I was protected a lot from the miserable things that were happening around us. Germaine x
