So after all that turmoil, having decided I couldnt cope - I just couldnt stand the thought of him being put down tomorrow morning. Ive just rung and said I will go and have him. Ive found a website where they make boots for dogs who have lost a paw and will ask them to make them for him. What can I say - pray for me and him! |

Well we had decided on Ralph. I was thinking of changing it to Pod(as in tripod), but dont know if that is a bit insulting to him. So I think we will stick with the original one. And guys, I am definitely NOT wonderful. |

The thing is Di, without the boot the little stump could get sore and infected and also he wouldnt be using the muscles in that leg properly so I think he will have to have the boot. With the boot it will be like his foot is on the ground so he will have purchase on the ground and be able to use the muscles. |

Im hoping he gets on well with a boot and I may even put him in for terrier trials races! That would be a strike for the disabled, wouldnt it! |

Heather, I didn't add to the thread last week, because it had to be your choice, but somehow I knew you would. I'm so glad for you and for the puppy. He was meant to be yours, look at the day he was born. I am so happy for you, you're a lovely lady. M. |

You are all SO LOVELY. After I phoned and said Id go and get him I put down the phone and sobbed my heart out. It was just so much built up emotion. Now, if I could magic away the neighbour from hell, all would be well with the world. Hubby says he will go (its 80 miles) and pick him up on Thursday. Ive double checked with them and they said they have cancelled the vet. So he is safe. |

Oh, TC, I am so pleased. I am sure you will not regret having him. I did not respond to your last thread because the decision had to be yours alone and no-one else could possibly take it for you. Perhaps you can train him to threaten the neighbour from hell every time he comes anywhere near your boundary! (Joke, joke!) As for names, well, Snudge (as in Bootsie and Snudge), or Silver (as in Long John). Good luck Tina (with a very, very large poodle) |
