There is a place in Birmingham called Oasis - not the chain. Under its roof are a lot of stalls selling 'alternative' clothing, hippy, boho chic, gothic etc. There is also an excellent shoe stall. I love that place! The rest of Brum isn't bad either. If I had to pick a chain it would be Monsoon or Wallis. Gwynne

Bryan is that true Whitgift is the best?????? find that hard to believe, only go over there if I REALLY have to Susie think Southport is near Liverpool but maybe wrong Love Wilkinsons... spent a fortune in there back in Decemember in their sale when the reduced stuff they really reduce it. Got all the neices and nephews pressies plus lots of general stuff for when kids get invited to parties LOL am still using it now ooooppppsss p'haps i got bit much???

shelli, they won that honour a couple of years ago,but i think the trafford centre, with all its entertainment is better. i also go to tooting,to buy 'nearly new' clothes,as the savings are really good. bryan.

I'm not really into shopping but I think Taunton has a good range of shops, from poundland to boutiques. I had a look in the Next sale but couldn't find anything I liked. Could have spent quite a bit in EWM but restrained myself & only spent £30. When it comes to shoes I go for comfort & look for Van Dal or Hush Puppies. About once a year I take a look at Clarkes Village in Street. Vivienne

Jill YES you;re quite right Ikea is good... suits whole family... play room for 3 boys, daughter too old now. The kids love their meatballs and also the cafe as they go out, where they can get hotdogs and chips. I love the fact you can refill the drinks... makes it real value. On the downside it can get manic in there, so tend try and go when it's quiet. But it is open for a long time each day, think it's midnight on a week night and 10pm on a saturday. Wouldn't fancy working there LOL

Bryan not keen on Tooting, but like Primark. Thats our nearest one, althought we tend to go to Arndale centre in wandsworth for primark. Another cheapy shop lol

Not quite what you asked for, but my great regret in life - as an oldie - I can walk past a sports shop and not even give it a glance. They used to be places of real magic. happy days (long gone)

Hello, I miss IKEA in the UK as it is just not the same here in Germany they shut so much earlier shopping is a big no no on Sunday and nothing is open apart from the Icecream parlours they are a very religious country and when on bank holiday's you want to go shopping everything is shut.....lol I did used to shop in the great western outle village t in Swindon when I lived in Tidworth....That was okay Love Susie xx
