Congratulations Heather, I haven't been around too much lately (Turknology again), and dont know too much about his problem. I remember you being all excited when you saw him for the first time - about the same time as we got Tia, who I might add is a little minx - well actually not so little - she's growing faster than a weed! All the puddles and parcels are worth every minute, will check the photos page asap, Looking forward to the up-dates, and hope your vet turns out to be as good as he sounds. Magi and the Golden Ones

Heather well done you, as Rox says I'm proud to 'know' you. You've certainly looked into things by the sound of it. There's also lots of info on the net, as I understand. My parents' black lab/collie cross, Tessa (a.k.a. Big Black Blob), sends Ralph licks and slurps. Take care, hugs to Ralphy. xx

I tell you what Ray, this late motherhood isnt easy! Getting up at 3.30 in the morning and walking bare foot into poo and then all the playing and feeding - fair knackered today! Little one just fallen asleep so Im going to lay down on the sofa next to him.

He looks quite scarey in that doesnt he! My 19 year old son bought himself a new digital camera yesterday which was handy. He was sitting on the floor with the squeaky on his lap when Ralph came towards it. My eldest son (the one who works for Endemol - BB at mo, poor devil) has just rang me to say that photo iis now on all the BB computers in the editing dept as wallpaper too!

Thanks everyone - Becs dont want to adopt the 22year old daughter, but may do a swop for a 19 year old son I have here. Wendy, dont worry, he will be fine Im sure. He runs about all over the place and the physiotherapist at Battersea Dogs Home (yep, contacted them too) said the best thing you can do is give him plenty of exercise to build up his muscles. I know perhaps it wasnt the sensible thing to do, but Ive done it now and I promise you I will do the very best for him. I have him booked to see a vet on Monday for innoculations and a check over. I have changed vet to this guy because he has just returned from Bosnia where he volunteered for 3 months to help injured animals so if anyone knows about this sort of thing ...................... I dont go out much Wendy, we havent been on hols for 4 years cos we wouldnt leave Lucy in a kennel at her age, I go to the hairdresser about 4 times a year and still have the same sandels on that I bought 3 years ago - so I am not struggling for money (yet) - if need be, I will spend what he needs. Just going to buy him a puppy play pen so the little sod is in one place when Im walking around instead of hanging on the back of my trouser leg! Bloody hell, do all puppies eat daisies and buttercups?

Heather - what help is there available for him if the boot doesn't help? It could damage his back to have to keep twisting it permanently trying to get along. I really honestly do hope he gets on fine but I've not read any practical comments yet only fluffy 'aww' ones which are great for an able bodied pup but little Ralph needs so much more help. Has your vet given you a forecast of how much you can realistically expect to be spending on his treatment over the years? I'm honestly not trying to put a dampener on things but if he's struggling that much maybe letting him go would have been kinder for him rather than taking him because the breeder emotionally blackmailed you into taking the little chap. If anyone wants to shoot me for that I will be available from 6pm onwards.

Heather Hope all goes well when he gets his boot Ralph you will be a spoilt little lad no doubt , message from 4 canines here woof woof bark bark woof !!!! ( Hugs from Tyke, Misty , Micha and Yoshi ) Please let us know how he is doing and the little things he gets upto, not that he would get into any mischief.!!! What breed is Ralph Jan Kathy I have 2 BC's and both try to walk in my flip flops with me, many a time I start to walk down the garden to find I am about to fall over as one of the little darlings is so close behind me they are actually walking on the back of my flip flops, and they will race me upstairs , bit much when you have arms full of clean washing and they try and trip you up as they race to be first on the landing.( mind you the German Shepherd aint much better ) Jan

Brilliant, Heather, your little Ralph will be so worthy of all the love you give him and you in turn will be assured of his devotion to you. Would love to see a pic of him - he sounds lovely and don't forget what I told you, matching boot and bandana - he has to cut a dash whereever he goes.Have fun.

Heather, So you have the little fella, at last. Watch out for the squeaky toys and don't stumble on the odd ball! Hide your slippers!! I often walk about the house with a Border Collie (goes by the name of Shellie/Trouble) hanging on my slippers. Please give Ralphie a kiss and a hug from me and Shellie (BC). Kathy xx
