To say that was a nailbiting finish would be an understatement. Really thought we had blown it, but what a game, all credit to both teams for producing such an enthralling match, best one I've seen in a long while. Hopefully England will still be carrying that buzz through to Old Trafford on Thursday for the start of the next test; to have lost today after being on the brink of victory would probably have knocked the stuffing out of them.

If England lose this one today, I wash my hands of them. Lily

For England to lose, they're going to have to bowl very poorly. I think they can win it today but I can see it being a draw. However, the pressure is on Australia and one of their key batsmen (Clarke) has got back problems and has hardly played any part in the match. Game on.

All so close in the end but well done to the Aussies for that backs to the wall display.I think these two sides are now the best two in the World! Dave

Having watched the last few Overs of the second Test, can I ask why bowlers don't know that they have to make the final batsmen actually strike the ball? We could have won if we'd got a lucky catch! Lily (a tennis fan)

I am thinking of assassinating my next-door neighbour who listens to cricket (a ball game for adults) on a portable radio in his garden. len

Reminds me so much of my other great cricket hero Ian Botham. Both giants in their sport.
