His funeral is today, Gordon B. is doing the eulogy. What a waste of such a towering intellect! Lily

Pat, i agree entirely, they were work colleagues. Blair must still be feel guilty about Iraq as that was why Cook rsigned brenda

Didn't see that not very nice, but some people have no respect, of course Robin didn't say things Tony wanted to hear and some people only want to hear what THEY want to hear. Pity Tony wouldn't go beyond that and show respect for the Politician and the man. My thoughts will be with Robin and his family at such a sad time. Pat x

I see from the Telegraph that Mr Blair is not going to interupt his holiday to go to the funeral Sums him up doesnt it?

I know this is old news but I wish to say I was shocked to hear of the death of such an upstanding man a great Politician who stood by his beliefs, & a man who was a great socialist. The world will be a lesser place without people like Robin Cook. As someone else said 59 years is no age these days and its so sad to lose him. My sympathies go out to Robin Cook's family and his collegues in politics its very sad and we are less without him. RIP Pat x

I never particularly liked Robin Cook, but at least had the integrity to resign when he didn't agree with Blair over Iraq. I hope he enjoyed his final years with his partner, may he rest in peace. Carole

Poor man, he was no age at all was he? RIP His poor sons, too young yet to lose a father. I know that seems a sutupid thing to say, because I don't know when the right age would be, but it is more difficult the younger you are. Deanna

Poor him. He couldn't have been much further from a hospital if he'd tried. What an awful wait that must have been for those who were with him. I didn't like him in general, but good on him for sticking to his guns and resigning over Iraq. PS have you read the BBC new article? They've made a bit of a blunder: 'Following Mr STRAW'S death, former friends and colleagues paid tribute to him.'
