ROBIN COOK 'SERIOUS' IN MOUNTAIN COLLAPSE (Update

Former foreign secretary Robin Cook is in a serious condition in hospital after collapsing on a Highland mountain during a walk with friends. The Labour MP was near the summit of Ben Stack near Sutherland when he appears to have collapsed. The coastguard was called at about 2.30pm and Mr Cook was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital near Inverness. |

Raigmore has an excellent reputation. Bet he is glad though it wasnt in the Lothian area - as he would have ended up as a patient of his ex wife |

Mr Cook, 59, was flown by helicopter to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, and is understood to have received 40 minutes of resuscitation en route. His poor family. Elaine x |

I am stunned with the news that Robin Cook has died today. He is/was such a nice person. Met him when he came to Leeds Civic Hall to open Leeds City Council's Breast Screening Mobile Unit for all women employees in 1989. R.I.P.Robin Deepest sympathy to his family. Sue |
