The Top ten non fiction books last week contained six sudoku books.

I decided to have a go a couple of weeks back when my pc was out of order, it took me three attempts to work it out and by then i was hooked!! I guess it was to be expected as i am a big fan of logic puzzles, now i find i am doing them online with my morning coffee, buying newspapers for them and then last week i bought a book of them....i find they are just enough of a challenge to keep me busy when i am on the bus everyday. June, if you have teletext on TV, go to page 142 on Ch 4, there is a daily puzzle on there. I have to do it every morning before I get going.!! There are several sites you can browse on the internet for more puzzles. I have made myself 6 grids on an A4 sheet, which I scan and print out for doing puzzles I copy down.

David, They aren't maths puzzles. The numbers are just symbols: you could use the letters a-i in their place. They are logic puzzles really and there aren't any tricks. You just apply the rule to every row, column and square. They should, however, come with a health warning as they are seriously addictive! Janice

I bought a small book on holiday, but have yet to do one. I've done the easy ones in the paper, but it is something I would like to master. Just a case of sitting down and spending time really.

You'll find some if you google dailysudoku too, there's an archive and a message board. I've got the whole family doing them now, lol. Heather
