The Bag

The Bag Report 2 Sep 2005 12:41

There once was a bear all pink and round That got dropped too often on the ground Her feet got grubby but thats not all her head got wiggly and she aint so tall All dressed up and places to go suitably dressed for sun or snow Posh clothes covering her grubby places to meet those friendly GR faces The grubby bear cried ''oh please dont wash me'' ''I dont 'do' washes , I'm far to posh see'' Just come here and have a little brush up The dirt can't stay so please bear hush up. A little more stuffing there, up your jacksy Dont make a fuss or you wont go in the taxi Marys being kind, bear You're looking rather skinny you need that little extra 'fluff' to fill you BQ pinny

Thank you, Lindy. X Here's why I wanted this thread - There's a bear sat in my dining room. She's big and pink and floppy 'Cos someone's washed her, and so Now she really looks quite soppy! Her head is lolling on one side. Her shoulders are so thin! I wonder, should I open a seam And put more stuffing in? The worst of it is yet to come, She doesn't look so neat. When she was hung out on the line, Her weight sank to her feet! So please beware if you are sewing GB some new outfits! Her measurements have changed a lot - She cannot stand but now sits. Her body shape has also changed - It's really so unfair, She's not so slim as she once was - She's now more like a pear! So, please take note, Relayers all - She's getting rather frail. As said before, she can't stand now. (She's also got A TAIL!) Oh Gaynor Bear! Oh Gaynor Bear! You really do look sad. We'll have to try and cheer you up, So you don't feel so bad. We've lots of outings planned for you And lots of friends to visit, Which really ought to cheer you up. Life's not so bad now, is it? The sun is shining, birds are singing And the sky is blue. We'll go out walking later on And hope to meet friends new. More of this drivel later. CB >|<

I won't let her go on the blink. She'll have to refrain from the drink, And if she wants to head for Soho, In no uncertain terms, it's 'NO! NO!' I'll not let her get near the tarts, As others have in 'foreign' parts. She'll not go near those places shady. She's going to be 'My Fair Lady'! Sloane Ranger day and then Buck House And Changing of the Guards. Royal Parks, Trafalgar Square, etc, And Whitehall's on the cards. I wonder if HM's at home, Or dear Cherie and Tone? If there's no-one grand about, I don't want her to moan. I did my best to get a pic Of GB with Camilla, But she was busy. Wouldn't play. Maybe I should ask Cilla? Heading for Covent Garden next, She's going down the Strand. We'll take her to the Opera House And make her look so grand! A special outfit for that day Fairy Godmum's made. So WooHoo! Our Gaynor Bear can 'arabesque' In a sparkly white net tutu. On Saturday the twenty-fourth, She's taking to the sky. Our Gaynor Bear is due to go Up on the London Eye. We hope she'll be accompanied By lots of Relay members. So book your tickets quickly, foks, For a trip you will remember! CB >|<

Gaynor Bear has become a trollop She moves around the country in a gallop When she was up North she was so naive On her journey she has learned how to duck and weave It is so good to hear of her antics But PLEASE keep her away from the optic's!!!! This young pink 'madam' Seems to need some lessons in decorum! She'd better start behaving In our Parliamentary Forum! They won't take kindly to her tricks, And so she must be good And on her best behaviour, But not in sombre mood. We've planned a lot of fun for her Around the sites of London. If she fails to behave herself Our efforts could be undone. We might be thrown out forcibly From places where they frown On riots, fuss and ructions In smart places up in town. There will be some occasions, though, Where she'll be heard, not seen - When Max and I from Sarf London Take her to Camberwell Green! She'll see the flats where I grew up And maybe have a go On swings I went on as a child. Are they still there 50 years on? I really do not know! She'll do the Lambeth Walk with us In Pearly Queen's best mode. The Elephant and Castle's near And so's The Old Kent Road. We won't have time for Peckham Rye (Del Trotter's not there now), And Brixton Market's too far off To meet the Reggae crowd. We'll teach 'er 'ow ter talk proper But not to be too loud. Don' matter if she shows us up, 'Cos, gawd knows, we ain't proud! We'll take her off to London Bridge To lunch in a rub-a-dub-dub. We couldn't take her down The Borough And not visit a Southwark pub. It might be Chaucer's famous inn, Or we might choose The Anchor. That's on Bankside, near Modern Tate. Can she manage a tankard? No-one has told me what she eats, So we will have to guess. (I hope she's a tidy eater, As we don't want any mess.) We might include the Globe Theatre, A cultured place, I know. But where we'll get to Heaven knows, With so many places to go! She may not be togged up in gear Quite like Shakespeare's 'fustian'. Oh dear! 'To bear or not to bear?' That might prove to be the question. Now, don't quote me the poem old I've heard it all before. I know 'Mary had a little bear ...' It's now become a bore. We'll keep you posted, one and all, On GB's daily antics. I hope the Relay Team shape up Or I'll be going frantic! I wrote nicely and tried my best To do a good promotion, But no-one seems to love our bear. A sad lack of devotion! So, thanks for reading all this tripe. I'm grateful that you troubled. I wish we'd got more sponsors in And got the Pink Fund doubled. (And if you think this is bad, just wait and see what's coming! ;>))) ) CB >|<
