What are your views on this subject? Mine? Well I would like to think that if anything untoward happened to any one close to me that part of them would still be living, helping someone else. Jo.

It was powerful wasn't it. I agree - if anything of mine could be used to help someone else - its there

I got a bit confused...I thought they said the bloke got the transplant and the girl got a bit better and later got the transplant...at the end it seemed to turn it out the other way E x

Cant see what good bits are to me when i shuffle off this mortal coil- have them, use them. Who would i vote for ? I think Lucy.

I watched it too. i thought it was very well done and put the message across about how distressing it is for both sides. I have signed a donor card and Tony knows my wishes. but so did the relatives there and they still fund it a hard decision to make. i would like tot hink a part of me or him would live on. Mind you, one thing they didn't cver was age. at what age do your 'bits' become not useable do you know? Ann glos

fairy me and my daughter are on the donor register.if it does happen if we could make a difference give someone else a chance then that would be wonderfulxxxxx(:

i did'nt watch the programme, but my friend meg,is transplant co-ordinator,for england,so i know just how important this subject is. most london paramedics carry donor cards at work, its the least any NHS worker can do. this is a subject, that should be on the front page. bryan.

yes we watched, and as a result both went and put our names on the donor register. I was a bit confused by the ending too - who got the organs ?

Fairy

Fairy Report 27 Aug 2005 22:40

Watching the programme, I could'nt make out who got the organs either. I don't think either of them did. It was confusing, perhaps it was deliberate by the BBC. Jo.

Daniel Report 27 Aug 2005 22:41

The girl did. With about 10% majority.

Unknown Report 27 Aug 2005 22:41

if neither of them got them (which is what I thought) then it was a bit dodgy having a phone in, as they made money on each call (although I didn't see where that money went and if it goes to charity, fair enough)

The girl got the organs and after a slight set back with a lung she went on to do very well. The man got married anyway and was still on the transplant list. Chrissie x

Unknown Report 27 Aug 2005 22:43

see now I'm confused, I thought they said that they reinflated the girls lungs and she was ok, and not a priority so wouldnt get the organs

Christine2

Christine2 Report 27 Aug 2005 22:45

Paul I think what they were saying was that one of the new lungs collapsed and needing reinflating but it was successful. Chrissie

Fairy

Fairy Report 27 Aug 2005 22:45

I thought the same as you Paul. Jo.

Unknown Report 27 Aug 2005 22:46

OK, I could be wrong, (but considering she was in there because of a collasped lung, I don't think I am lol)

Christine2

Christine2 Report 27 Aug 2005 22:48

Shall we agree to differ then Paul LOL

Unknown Report 27 Aug 2005 22:50

I didn't see the program, but having been there recently-- there is no barrier on age.. corneas work for all............. a healthy set of lungs from a 60 yr old will give a donor another 5 years = ok they have to undergo another op but its 5yrs extended life? same for kidneys.. why not just donate? you''ll be dead so let them worry who/if it helps anyone? and if it does all the better x

Anyway the point is this, how do you feel about organ transplants? Nothing to do with the BBC or the play. Just about YOU.
