Ouch Lisa! I would have stopped for him - some strange people around these days. Glad he's on the mend - my cousins 9 year old son fell off his bike on the first day of the school holiday - had to have stitches in his mouth - front teeth went into his bottom gums - another ouch! Is it a boy thing? Debby |

Hospital says that although wrist is not totally in line they are happy to stay with the cast and see him again next week for more xrays to check progress. Liam had a fab birthday but has worn himself out over the last few days. He is really chirpy at the moment and its great to have my baby back. It may be hard but being a mum is the best job in the world. Lisa xx |

Lisa, I have only just seen your thread. I am so sorry for your little lad, and I hope he is back to playing happily very soon. What type of person walks away from a child in need? He must have made quite a loud scream, having done all that damage to himself. Give him a big hug from me, and don't forget to tell him that not EVERYBODY is like that woman! Deanna (((((((((hugs )))))))))) |

Thank you everybody for your kind messages it's nice to know that there are still caring people out there. Liam had his op and they kept him in overnight came home Thursday morning. He is feeling a bit better and had his stitches out yesterday looks a bit of a mess but will soon heal. He has to go back to hospital to see consultant next wednesday and have more xrays hopefully if wrist holds he will not need another op so fingers crossed. Going to be a slow road but will get there. Thanks agian Lisa xx |

Hi Lisa I'm sure your son will be fine with the op. I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry. The 'lady' must be brain dead or visually impaired if she can't work out that a kid who needs five stitches is certainly not okay. What if he had broken his ankle as well. How would he have got home. I would recommend that you contact the school and make arrangements for him to go back as soon as his face starts to heal. It would only add to his problems if he missed all the foundation work going on. If you are lucky the school will provide a scribe for him but if not he can still listen and work orally in the class. Best wishes to you and your son Beth :) |

Hi Lisa, I hope that the op goes well for your son today and that he is soon feeling better. I am sorry that he has suffered this experience. It is awful that some people are so uncaring. I wonder how the woman would have felt if it had been her child. Jill xx |

I hope Liam's feeling a bit better, some people don't care do they? just hope they get what they deserve. My grandson had a bad accident and ripped his whole leg open. Mum went to the place which was down a single track, followed by the ambulance, a woman in a 4x4 coming the oppoisite way refused both mum and ambulance driver to reverse to a passing place - Mum AND Ambulance had back to the main road??????? everyone too worried to have it out with her. Son had an operation on his leg it was so bad? OK now though |

I really hope that Liam will soon be better. I just cannot believe these people that can just leave a young lad like him injured on the pavement!! It just beggars belief. |

Hi Lisa, I've just read your thread and I'm also disgusted at this woman's attitude! As far as I'm aware, children ARE allowed to ride their bikes on the pavement/footpath, unless there are signs saying no bikes are allowed. I hope your son makes a full recovery very soon.# If I were you, I'd contact the local newspaper and ask them to feature the story as a reminder to other people not to just 'walk on by'. CB >|< |

My thoughts are with you and your son Lisa. What a hardfaced woman, one day she may be lying on the ground injured, or otherwise, maybe she will then realise how it feels. The trouble with this world today, people dont care enough! Whether he was riding fast or not is irrelevant! June xx |
