Must tell you this, it happens every time. The other evening, my daughter was having a cry (it's that time of the month), there's other things going on too, but anyway - there she was, sat on the bed in tears, when one of the cats, Sooty, jumped up onto her bed whereby he started rubbing himself against her, as if to say 'there there, what's the matter?' Whenever one of the family is upset about something, at least one of the cats picks up on it and comes and sits with that person. It's uncanny. They're nicknamed our feline therapists. Apart from when they catch birds, mice etc.! x |

i found this poem that I would like to share with you!! a gift Of Grace By S.L Smith 'fluffys having kittens ' the children cry with glee, disturbing fluffys private hour, they crowd around to see. four fussy living bundles, helpless, blind at birth, under fluffys tender gaze they begin their life on earth. a gift of life, a gift of grace, four tiny souls of fluffys race. one day at dawn the owner wakes and from the basket roughly takes four squirming kittens, bellies round with fluffys milk, four kittens drowned. 'fluffys having kittens'! the cry is heard elsewhere, unplanned, unwanted kittens are born into despair, six weeks they have with fluffy, with mothers milk replete, and then one howling stormy night-abandoned in the street. each year a million kittens, unplanned are given life, some to perish screaming, from the vivisectors knife, some to linger starving, turned out into the night, to live their lives as ferals, on the fringes of our sight, in the humane shelters death comes with gentler hands, to the million surplus kittens that arrive on earth unplanned. a gift of life, a gift of grace, unwanted souls of feline race. I think We all Know What The moral of the Poem Is!! |

Ooh, I say. We have 4 black cats, 3 of whom have white hairs here and there. One of them has this minute jumped onto my lap as I type. I've heard from the RSPCA, CPL etc that black cats are the least-wanted cats, and I don't know why. I'd say it's a form of discrimination, lol. x |

My mam always says that our old cat Fluffy who passed away in 1998 was the reincarnation of my 'Granda' George - an old family friend who lived with us when I was a baby. He died when I was 2 - Fluffy was born a few weeks later. She walked with a little limp - he had a wooden leg. She would follow me everywhere - he worshipped me. She didnt much like my dad - my mam joked George felt the same lol! I beleive in what you say Roxanne. Definately. Natalia x |

Cats decide who their owners will be. I have had 2 kittens try to adopt me, unfortunately I wasn't in a position to keep them, and have felt guilty ever since. One followed me across a beach in a storm - it was so windy that the poor fellow got blown over, so I picked him up and carried him in my jacket for about 3 hours, then gave him back to his owners (who wanted me to take him) on the way back. Another one appeared in my tent in Oban!! However, since then, I have managed to keep two cats that adopted me. One was the brother of a kitten we were buying. Every time we went to see Toots, this enormous ginger kitten appeared, so we took him as well. The other one was a stray for 2 years (abandoned by my neighbours). Everyone locally tried to take her in, but she decided she liked my house, despite the other 4 cats and 2 dogs that were here at the time!!! I've also had a cat move away. She had been with our family for 16 years when she moved out to live for another 6 years with an elderly couple down the road. maggie |

King Osorkon, of the 22nd dynasty, placed a white cat in the centre of a magnificent temple and ritually endowed it with supreme powers. |

Roxanne, as some people on here will remember, we had a cat called Ninja who sadly had to be put down, as there was no cure for her, we did try and we were with her at the moment of eternal sleep, but she has not gone from us, she just shares our other cat's body, Charlie is some times him self other times he is definatly Nija, with her weird antics, so now we have 2 for the price of one. :) Bev |
