Val my son is now 8 and he is 4ft 4ins tall and wears clothes for 10 year olds he a little bit behind in his reading which we were told he would be as he didn't start talking till he was 19 months and walking from 16 months. When my son was born i was shock by how small he was ( my fist was bigger than his head) but they grow very quickly. Julie

Val just seen this. Hope everything turns out ok. I was going through much the same thing 3 weeks ago with my daughter Jen. Maddy is comming along just great, she was just over 3lb when she was born, and is now 4lb 8oz. She had a check up at the hospital yesterday and is fine, no problems at all. Just so little.

Little Jewels, current baby not arrived yet, labour has stopped. If you mean last years model, he is now 13months old and walking, and is the most happy & placid child i've come across.

Have stopped the drugs now, and are waiting to make sure that contractions will stay stopped of their own accord, not had any further news since teatime yesterday. Val

Val - my thoughts and prayers are with your Daughter in Law, I hope all goes well for her. I have asked for her name to be added to the Healing Book, so I expect it will be on their later tonight. Kaye x

Joan of Arc(hives) Report 23 Sep 2005 21:43

Are they sure she's definitely in proper labour Val & she's not having Braxton Hicks contractions? They start around 30 weeks don't they? As long as her waters don't break, her BP doesn't go up or she doesn't dilate she could still hang on a bit longer. You've already had a premature grandchild so I expect you know things are probably going to be ok, & not to worry. :0) Joan xxx

Joan she has been in 2 hospitals where they were monitoring her and baby, the babys heart rate was fine between contractions, but dipped for the duration of a contraction. Never heard of the condition you mentioned, must go look it up.

Had told her of Braxton Hicks contractions, she said that she had had those for some time, but these contractions seemed to be more than that. However it looks like that is maybe what they were only more severe. Val

That's wonderful news Val. Perhaps they (the Braxton Hicks contractions) get stronger the more babies you have, I take it this is not her first? Let's hope she can now relax & baby will come when it's ready!! :0) Joan xx
