Hi Julie, I joined in February this year and was getting on with my tree and then I found this board. Started joining in and soon got to know who was who. I now feel I have several 'friends' on here and I know there is always someone to cheer me up or talk to - especially as I am usually only on late at night. So be brave, chip in with a comment, if only to say 'yes, I feel that way' or 'I agree' etc and you will soon feel at home. Just don't expect to do anymore to your tree once you get hooked on here lol Have to get to bed now, lots to do tomorrow to keep o.h. in a good mood, Night everyone, Liz

Thanxs purple petunia, I have noticed that, I have to tell myself that I am here to do research on my family, but very hard with some of the threads. My daughter has asked me what i am laughing at, but hard to explain to 7 year old sometimes. Strump and hi cliff sound good, thank you both for making me feel welcome. julie

Good morning Julie I hope you come back on the boards again today as i missed you last night (i got kicked off the puter by my daughter) It took me ages to add a post, but once i did, everyone made me feel so welcome and now they just can't get me off lol. Its right what purple said, once you get on these boards, your family tree goes right out the window. Well mine did, but i am now trying to get back to it again. nice to meet you and chat soon Annie x

Hello Julie, ..Welcome I notice from your posts that you have Hampshire as an area of interest. There are quite a few on these boards with similar interests and many still live in the county. I'm sure that they, like most others will be able to help you. Gwyn..... Hampshire born and bred

Hi Jewels, I am one of those who are not on the boards late at night so didn't see your post last night. Please feel welcome, read or post it doesn't matter. We are all human (well most of us) and sometimes we forget our manners and don't notice people. But it is not personal, it is easy to 'miss' someone's posting. And, of course you can be as funny as any of the others. Sometimes I (being a senior) haven't a clue wht is going on but i always feel welcome. sometimes there is aggro on here, then it is best ignored, it goes away. as I said we are only human. I too have Hmapshire interests (born and bred in hampshire but not actually lived there since 1968 -- daughter and family do though and also sister, parents no longer alive but they lived in Fareham until 1999. Anyway, do perservere and enjoy the boards. Ann Glos

Hi Julie Please don't feel left out, it's not intentional but this board races along and sometimes we all feel a little left behind. I joined Genes in Jan 04 (I think!) but didn't come on this board properly until earlier this year. Was very shy at first and still don't post as much as some, but you'll soon feel at home. It's a total lunatic asylum at times and yes, we've all sat here with tears rolling down our faces, sometimes because we're lonely, sometimes because we're sad for other people and sometimes because we can't stop laughing. Enjoy the ride and welcome on board! Daisy
